Blooms

I had the good fortune of bumming around with The Pink Clutch yesterday.  When I needed some pretty flowers to urge on Spring and she needed the fixings for supper, we hightailed it to Trader Joe’s.  And, since I already had her a captive audience, I also got her to arrange my blooms back at the house.

I’m loving this colorful welcome to our home!  The green door hanger on the blue door with the yellow daffodils right inside.  It just screams spring.  And I’ll have you know that today it WAS 70 outside here in Atlanta.  (I’m not going to think about the rest of the week’s forecast…)  I was super skeptical about the $1.49 daffodil bunches but P assured me they would open, and one day later they are already well on their merry way.

I always like to keep something in this little Nate Berkus for Target vase in the den.  We spend loads of time in here.

There was enough left over to fill a small vase in the kitch as well.  It’s amazing how far three inexpensive bunches of flowers can go.  ($12 total)  And I do stay on top of changing out the water so these can stretch as far as two weeks usually.

I couldn’t let y’all go without sharing that my little pink plant in the office is still alive!!!!!!!!!!!!  Win for the black thumb!

How are y’all preparing for spring???  (I do realize that many of you are still digging out of the snow.)

  1. Love your cheery blooms – if only it would really work to urge on Spring! Oh, this fickle Georgia weather… (I'll take it though, as I could never survive anything colder)!

  2. Your home always looks so inviting! I just picked up some daffodils at TJs, too! Love them! We, however, are some of those still digging out of the snow :(. Currently 17 degrees. SO ready for Spring!!

  3. I just had to switch out our pillows in the den with yesterday's weather. I know it is going to get cold again, but at least now the room is light and bright and ready for spring. I have been adding a few spring flowers as well, and need to clip some of my forsythia branches today to force. On a side note, are you and P going to Haven this year?

  4. I'm doing the same thing here. Flowers from the grocery store and bird nests around the house are reminding me that spring is just around the corner…even though it snowed today here in Dallas!!

  5. What's up with this crazy Georgia weather? Air conditioning on one day, heat on the next! I love the fresh flowers you put around your home, they're so pretty. We're celebrating Spring with hubby's birthday next week, mine at the end of the month, looking forward to St. Patrick's Day fun and Back in the Day Bakery's new cookbook due out this month. We'll be heading to Savannah and Atlanta for some fun too, I may never come back home. Have a great weekend!

  6. I love all the flowers – I need to get some for my house to make it feel springy around here. Then again with the tons of snow out the window, I wouldn't be fooling anyone…ugh. Glad to see you are able to keep your plant alive. I have the same black thumb problem…Enjoy your weekend!

  7. Amanda! I have a random question- what camera do you use? I'm in search of a 'bog girl' camera before baby girl makes her arrival and I love all of your pictures! Any suggestions would be helpful since I'm mostly a phone user haha Thanks!
