I’ve been dishing on my Sunday Suppers since the beginning of time for Dixie Delights. But, as my littles have grown, started school and have an increasing number of after school commitments, I have similarly grown my repretoire (if you will) of School Night Suppers. One crowd favorite is quick and easy Fettuccine Alfredo. It’s not light and it’s not “healthy”, but sometimes you just need stick-to-your-bones kinda food. Oh, and you can pull this together in about 15 minutes people. While juggling homework for one, the witching hour for another, and a needy puppy. No joke!
Fettuccine Alfredo
serves 4 (in my house)
8 oz fettuccine, uncooked
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup whipping cream
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg (optional, but I always opt in to nutmeg)
- Cook pasta according to directions, drain.
- Meanwhile, combine butter and cream in a saucepan; cook over low heat until butter melts. Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Pour mixture over pasta (or vice versa); toss well and serve immediately.
Easy peasy and a crowd pleaser!
xoxo

Homemade Alfredo is one of my go to meals as well – but we always ass chicken & broccoli. Still comes together in no time as long as the chicken is thawed. :-)
Happy Monday! xo
Amanda – PLEASE delete my previous comment as auto correct did something ugly with “add”!!!

Such a great food for fall weather. I haven’t made it in a while but I would like to try your combination of ingredients for a new spin. I also like to add peas and some cooked chicken for a one dish meal.

Add some peas for color and there’s your veggie!
I always have frozen peas in the freezer so I can always have a veggie.
Peas are big enough that the kids can pick them out if they don’t like them.
Looks delicious, love to read about your Sunday meals – inspiring, thank you!
I make something similar but I use sour cream instead of whipping cream. Same fat and delicious quick meal :)
This looks great Amanda and I am seriously in need of some quick and easy suppers. I get so fed up with eating about 6.30 and the kids only having an hour till bedtime and us still having to fit in reading in that time. Definitely going to give this a go. Xx
This Alfredo looks so yummy! often the best recipes are not “healthy”! I think I must be hungry because even though I already ate dinner I want some of this!
This sounds so tasty. I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for sharing quick and easy!
