First things first, if you’re new to Dixie Delights, welcome. I’m delighted you’re here! You can learn more about me and this little piece of the internet HERE.
For those that have been around a while, y’all know I’ve been slowly working on an update of our master bedroom over the last couple of months. I am thrilled to be sharing our new bedside chests today as part of a French Country Fall Home Tour with Soft Surroundings and Romantic Homes Magazine!!
Soft Surroundings provided me with a generous discount and a gift card that I was thrilled to use towards the Flemish Bedside Chests. I’ve had my eye on these for years and jumped at the chance to bring them home!!
I’ve had the blue and white lamp for about 15 years. It’s been in my attic for the last 7 because I didn’t really have a place for just one lamp. So….. after years of asking, Sister was finally ready to part with its twin. I think they are so perfect on the new chests!
I had more surface area to work with than previously on our old tables, so it was a lot of fun to accessorize them. The gold vase is a re-purposed candle holder from Target, the china man is the third in the set given to me by Mother, the books are antiques from Mother’s collection, the shell was a gift from bestie P and the frame is from Target. Bestie M purchased the garden stool from Home Goods and passed it along to me when she decided she couldn’t use it. I never have that kind of good luck at Home Goods.
I arranged the flowers sticking to my five tips for easy DIY flower arrangements. You can read all about them and watch the video HERE! And look at the patina on the chest here. It’s sooooo gorgeous!
Since I’m not one to purchase a lot of furniture online, I was extremely pleased to find these pieces really well made, extremely sturdy and pretty easy on the eyes. I love having drawers on each side of the bed for storage, as the tables we previously used had none. I particularly love this feature for Honey’s side of the room. Y’all wouldn’t believe the pile of stuff he keeps over there. It’s like a landmine and I do not know how he hasn’t broken his neck in the middle of the night. I realize that I’m reaaaaaally carrying on about the drawers, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that I LOVE how they do that soft close thing… you know, where you close about 90% and then they glide in to the 100% mark. That thing. I love it.
Moving right along to Honey’s spiffed up side, I almost hid the alarm clock because, let’s face it, it’s not pretty. BUT, alarms are real life and I do try to be authentic. I turned his current reads backwards on the table to make them blend in more. He did tell me that his flower arrangement needed to go (men!) so it promptly found a new home on the kitchen table where it can be enjoyed by all.
The whole time I was photographing the room this little monkey was hiding on the other side of the bed… he actually scooted under it for the pic above.
… and this one was rooting around in the duvet. Neither are ever very far. <3
There are 12 other bloggers participating in the French Country Fall Tour over the course of today and tomorrow. Many thanks to Janet at Shabbyfufu, Soft Surroundings and Romantic Homes Magazine for sponsoring us!!

Everything is done to complete perfection Amanda…and those chests are fabulous in your space!
Thank you!! And thanks for organizing too. I loved your new coverlet and updated room as well.
Oh, Amanda this is just perfect as it is. So funny about your hubby’s side. What is it with men and what does he mean the flowers need to go? How dare he say that! Love your photo bombers and the one with your cute fur baby looks like a styled shot for a magazine.
I mean, right? Crazy breed, those men. Your den was amazing! I love any blog hop with you!!
The addition of the chests just makes the room. I too am a total sucker for the soft close drawers. It’s the little things in life….This whole side of the room is looking amazing! The mirror-incredible, the new headboard-stylish, the new lamps-stunning. Bravo!
Thank you, Nancy!! This has been a fun collaboration. Thanks for inviting me to the group :-)
Wow! Beautiful! I am new (as in first time seeing) to your blog and love it. I also noticed and love your wing chair and the pillow on your bed that matches it, gorgeous, may I ask where you got them?
Thanks
Welcome!!! I’m so glad you’re here! The linen coverlet and matching pillow in the chair are from Horchow. It looks like they’ve changed a little since I bought them. They are now by Pinecone Hill and mine were Legacy, I believe.
Oh there are so many “stars” in this room….the gorgeous Flemish chests, the blue and white, the gorgeous bed…but then there are the “family members” who also stole the show. Exquisite room that shows your exquisite taste Amanda! Happy to be partying with you today!
Awwww…. you are always SO kind! It’s always about the people that live here for me :-) I loved your room as well!! xo
Amanda, your bedroom is gorgeous! I am in love with those chests!

Oh my! I am seriously crushing on those lamps!!!! Such a beautiful, serene room. Just lovely!
Thank you!! Best of all is that they were bought and paid for probably 15 years ago :-)
Wow. I think I’m speechless!! I loved your “old” bedroom and couldn’t imagine how you could improve on it, but I think you did. Love it!!
Tami, Thank you so much!! It was fun to tweak it!!

Thank you so much!
Such a delightful bedroom, I love the chest!!! It looks perfect and where did you get that amazing monogrammed pillow? All amazing!!
Thank you, Anita! The monogram is by Number Four Eleven in Savannah. They do amazing work!
Ahhhhhmazing! What a peaceful retreat you and your mother created. The side chests are perfect! I would love to hear you and Sister discuss such things. :-) You two are a hoot. I love the idea of turning the books backwards as a quick fix. Enjoy your afternoon!
haha! It took me forever to get her to give that lamp up :-)

Thanks Lauren!! Can’t wait to have you posting over here in a few days:-)
Amanda, this room is just lovely!! For one thing, I love the bedside chests. In fact, I love them so much, that I actually have one in our guest room… ;-) I also love all the blue and white details you have going on in here. And the mirror over the bed is stunning!!
Thank you so much Lory!! I know what fabulous mirrors you have so that means a lot :-) Can’t wait to see your room tomorrow!!
Oh Amanda! Your master is stunning! The linens, the lamps, the bedside chests…. I love each and every detail!!!!! Beautiful!
Thank you, Emily!! Popping over to see yours now! xo
How did you do the monogram on the chair?
Hi Donna! Before I dropped the fabric off with the chair to be reupholstered, I first cut a piece big enough to cover the back of the chair. I had it monogrammed BEFORE it went on the chair! I hope that helps.
So pretty!!! And I love the little ones that snuck in or hid during your photos. :-)
Amanda, I love how the chests look in your bedroom and you’ve styled everything so beautifully with all your gorgeous blue and white pieces! Love it all!
Shelley
Just beautiful! Are your bed linens from Pinecone Hill? I love them!
Your bedroom is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. Truly beautiful. You are your mother’s daughter!! The alarm clock, your son and the dog make it even better!!
Hope you don’t mind me saying, but your bedroom is so me and my better half!
Where did you get the shelves/brackets holding the emperors?
Can you tell me about the rug in the picture….it looks great!
Nothing overlooked…perfection and magazine worthy!
Thank you so much!
I am loving this room so much!! Could you share where you found the bedding? I am in search of something cut that way but I am having trouble finding names and sellers. Any help would be appreciated. :)
Thank you!! The duvet and blue/white shames were from Yves Delorme years ago. The flax colored coverlet with full skirt was from Horchow. I hope that helps!
Hello,
I’m new to this site! And I love it so far. I’m wondering if you can tell me who manufactures the bed in your bedroom post. It’s lovely!
Thank you.
Such a pretty French Country chest. All the little carvings and details on it are wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
