Disney World is magical 365 days a year, but the holidays at Disney have an extra special sprinkling of pixie dust! Here’s a peek into the holidays in the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is covered in classic Christmas decorations this time of year – from wreaths on Main Street to an impressive tree at the Town Square. In the evenings, Elsa lights Cinderella Castle in a stunning display of lights. Magic Kingdom is also host to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on select evenings from early November to Christmas.
Epcot
During the holidays in Epcot, you will find your favorite characters in topiary form and lush plantings at every turn. Epcot is home to Holidays Around the World and the Candlelight Processional this time of year – both of which are not to be missed!
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios has really ramped up their holiday decor the last two years. You will find tons of cute vintage items around the park. In the evenings, the Sunset Seasons Greetings show on Sunset Boulevard and Jingle Bell! Jingle Bam! show are both fantastic ways to get in the holiday spirit. The Jingle Bell! Jingle Bam! Dessert Party is a great offering that we have enjoyed a few times over the years as well.
Over in the new Toy Story Land, the decorations are playful and fun. You will notice scarves and hats on Buzz, Woody and the gang, reindeer ears on Rex, and holiday treats at Woody’s Lunch Box.
Disney Resorts
We love to take a ride around the monorail this time of year! Sister, CeeCee and I did just that and had a marvelous time. The most impressive of all is the Grand Floridian with it’s stunning tree and incredible gingerbread house. You can even shop for treats inside! Definitely go in the late afternoon when the pianist and Grand Orchestra are playing holiday tunes.
We stayed over at Contemporary and loved the Cinderella Castle gingerbread. You will also find an impressive display at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
