Formal Dining Table for Easter & Spring Events

Our Spring Break has had us out of town the last two Easters and I have loved being home to celebrate in all sorts of little ways this past week.

I love setting a formal table and knew the minute I saw these Hester & Cook table accents at a local boutique that they would be jumping off point for Easter lunch.

I used a gold sharpie to hand letter each one to serve as place cards. After this meal, I think I’ll save the ones for the ladies places to repurpose as gift tags down the road.

I was thrilled to work with South of Hampton on new monogrammed napkins. They contacted me about a month ago to ask if I had any upcoming projects that needed a monogram and it was perfect timing. I will share a lot more about South of Hampton in a post next week!

Mother and I hit Trader Joe’s for the flowers on Thursday. I always like to purchase them a few days early to give the roses time to open up.

I usually stick with one color in my DIY flower arrangements, but couldn’t resist the beautiful mix of pinks, purples and greens. I purchased two $15 assorted bouquets and then rearranged them in my own containers. For $30 total, I got this huge centerpiece, the two small julep cup arrangements AND another one for my den!

The white container is a soup tureen from my china, Lenox Butler’s Pantry. We registered for this all white, everyday china to use as fine china. I was drawn to it for the variety of serving pieces, that it is dishwasher safe, and that it was all white so would work for every occasion.

I set the the table with sterling and crystal and love how everything glitters. The kids received only iced beverage glasses at their places, while the adults also have wine glasses.

Sources (most I’ve had for 17+ years, but I am asked frequently):

  • Table: Haverty’s
  • Flowers: Trader Joe’s
  • Paint: Benjamin Moore Beach Glass
  • China (including candlesticks & tureen): Lenox Butler’s Pantry
  • Crystal: Waterford Lismore Tall
  • Sterling: Gorham Strasbourg (same as Mother & Sister)
  • Place Cards / Table Accents: Hester & Cook
  • Monogrammed Napkins: South of Hampton

Mother graciously insisted on cooking the entire meal, and I was thrilled to only have the table to set. She has glazed ham, twice baked potato casserole, petite lima beans, honey butter rolls, salad and pound cake on the menu. Yum!

I hope that you and yours enjoy a wonderful, happy Easter! And, for those celebrating Passover, I wish you the same!!

I am curious as to when you started collecting your silver pattern? Was it your wedding or earlier?
