Magic Is Here {Literally Everything You Need to Know About Christmas In Disney World 2020}

The holidays are a BIG deal and Disney and we always looked forward to Halloween and Christmas in previous years. I must say, we felt ALL of the Christmas magic during our week in Disney over Thanksgiving. I’ve heard nothing but incredible reviews from my clients as well. Magic is here!

A Very Merry Magic Kingdom

Walking into Magic Kingdom, you will immediately notice the Christmas decor running down Main Street, the holiday music around every turn, and the treats, characters and magical touches along the way.

As the sun sets over the park, the lights come on and the castle glows in the distance. In my opinion, this is the MOST magical time in the park!

Character Cavalcades and Entertainment

Character cavalcades and entertainment are pop-up events that magically appear throughout the day. They are absolutely magical and are so much fun to catch during your visit.

Mickey & Friends Trim a Tree

Royal Princess Processional

Goofy and Pals Bakeshop

Winnie the Pooh

Dapper Dans on the Holiday Trolley

You’ll also find the Main Street Philharmonic Band with Toy Soldiers and Santa Claus in his Sleigh!

Pop Up Character Sightings

In addition to the cavalcades, you’ll find characters waving and greeting guests from a safe distance all over the parks!

Holiday Snacks

Disney does holiday treats like nobody else!! If you can only choose just one, go for Belle’s Enchanted Christmas Tree!

Cinderella Castle Projections

When night falls, special projection effects transform the iconic palace with a rotating series of designs including a Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green and gold ornamentation. If you’re ultra lucky, you may even catch a few fireworks!

Christmas Magic Shots

With your PhotoPass purchase, you will find a variety of Christmas inspired MagicShots around Magic Kingdom! You can always ask the photographer if they have anything special and then enjoy the surprise when your pictures load to your account. Some of these are just regular photos, and some MagicShots.

Hollywood Studios Holidays

Feel the warmth of holiday magic as Disney’s Hollywood Studios transforms and surrounds you in unforgettable Disney moments. I just adore the vintage decor and big band holiday tunes all over this park!

The evenings are my favorite time and are even more festive ever! I love that the combination of the time change plus later park hours gives so much time to enjoy this.

Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel

After dark, the iconic Hollywood Tower Hotel on Sunset Boulevard will twinkle with projection effects as it becomes the Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel, magically transforming into a Muppets gingerbread masterpiece, a Toy Story toy hotel, a snowy corner of Arendelle and a Dickensian village inspired by “Mickey’s Christmas Carol.”

Frozen Sing Along Celebration Festive Finale

Just in time for the holiday season, “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” adds a festive finale, featuring everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf, and celebratory songs of the season. Slowly but surely, lives shows are returning to the parks!

Minnie’s Holiday Dine

We were excited to include an evening at Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine! The darling outfits and holiday music really put us in the Christmas spirit. The characters are doing a fantastic job at making the experience magical AND still getting in those special shots from a distance.

You’ll also find holiday motorcades, including Santa and his elves, all day long on Hollywood Boulevard!

Epcot Festival of the Holidays

Epcot is decorated all around the World! I think their tree is my favorite of all!

Be sure to stay for nightfall, like in the other parks, walking around to the twinkle of Christmas lights is magical! This was one of the Epcot MagicShots where the Christmas tree lights turned to Mickey’s.

Character Promenades and Sightings

Like in the other parks, you will find character promenades around the World Showcase area. There are also pop up characters all over the park!

Holiday Kitchens

‘Tis the season— you will enjoy embarking on an epicurean adventure featuring culinary traditions from countries ‘round the globe!

In addition to the holiday kitchens, you will enjoy live music, Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition scavenger hunt, a holiday overlay at Living with the Land, and the Holiday Cookie Stroll!

Festive Fun at Animal Kingdom

Holiday fun also abounds at Animal Kingdom. You’ll see unique seasonal décor.

Festive Flotillas

A flurry of festive flotillas with favorite Disney characters sail down the Discovery River to a jolly holiday soundtrack.

Tree of Life Awakenings

Our beloved tree shimmers and sparkles each evening, alive with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holidays.

Holiday Treats

There are a variety of holiday treats in Animal Kingdom, but our favorite was the Menagerie Cupcake! It’s a gingerbread cupcake with cream cheese frosting topped with a white chocolate bear. Cute and delicious!

The Magic of the Holidays at Disney Springs

Disney Springs is transformed into a winter wonderland, full of sparkling lights, enchanting décor and holiday surprises.

Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll

Elaborately decorated, Disney-themed trees appear throughout the shopping, dining and entertainment district in a socially distant manner. You can even pick up a scavenger hunt guide for a fun family activity.

Evening Magic

Stilt-walking toy soldiers, skating snowflakes and a magical snowfall will add a touch of wonder for holiday shoppers at surprise locations.

Other holiday festivities include special Magic Shots at the PhotoPass studios, Santa floating on the water, and Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar!

Disney Resorts

The Disney resorts are once again magnificently decorated! We stayed at Coronado Springs this trip, and also visited Grand Floridian. Both were festive and uplifing.
