What We’re Watching Part 7

I went through a phase during early 2023 where I only let myself watch these shows when I walked on the dreaded treadmill. Well, I got over that quickly. :-) Here’s my What We’re Watching Part 7 roundup.

The Crown Season 5

I really enjoyed this season, while it was admittedly a bit surreal to watch events unfold on the screen that I remember from “real life”. I particularly enjoyed the focus on Diana.

Inspired by real events, this fictional dramatization tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign.

Keep Sweet

Whoa. This docuseries had me riveted within the first few minutes. It was hard to fathom, at times, that this all happened when I was in college. I felt sick over it more than once. This one kept me walking on that tread without even glancing at how long or how far I’d gone.

This docuseries examines the rise of Warren Jeffs in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and his shocking criminal case.

Murdaugh Murders

Like many of you, I presume, I followed the horrific and corrupt events surrounding the Murdaugh trial with close attention. I’ve listened to podcasts but thought this limited series detailed the family’s sordid secrets well.

Since 2014, a tight-knit South Carolina community has been living in the wake of a series of violent, deadly crimes — all of which seem to involve one family. The new true crime series Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal shows how the prominent Murdaugh family purportedly used and abused their wealth and privilege to the extreme, and which family member is allegedly behind it all.

Outer Banks Season 3

On a lighter (?) note, Honey and I are once again tuned in to Outer Banks. It’s the right mix of action, love, adventure and teenage nonsense. Sometimes I go into shock when my brain connects the fact that these kid are basically John’s age. LOL.

After losing their gold to the Camerons and washing ashore on a desert island last season, the Pogues are embarking on their greatest treasure hunt yet. This time, their quest will take them to El Dorado, the lost city of gold. From emotional family reunions to high speed chases, Season 3 proves the Pogues have nothing left to lose.

What are YOU watching? I’d love to know!

  1. My new favorites are: Will Trent and So Help Me, Todd. I love the characters n both of these!
    Love, Marme

  2. I’m liking Will Trent too. And Just started watching Alaska daily with Hillary Swank, it’s pretty good too. I’m anxious to try some of your suggestions.

  3. I just finished binge watching the latest season of The Crown as well. The actress who played Diana looked so much like her although I didn’t think the same of the actor who played Charles. I really hate seeing the sadness Diana endured during the end of her marriage to Charles.
