Haunted Halloween Home Tour 2023 {Exterior}

Welcome, foolish mortals. Our haunted Halloween tour continues with the exterior today. The frights and delights start before you’ve even entered the house, with pumpkins and spiders and ghosts out front.

Large spiders can be found at Michael’s or Target. We just replaced this guy two years ago, but his predecessor lasted many years.

The Jack o Lanterns are from Target. I’ve had all of mine for many years. The friendly ghost door hanger from Bronwyn Hanahan is one of my favorites!  The mini mesh ghosts in the ferns are also from Michael’s – they carried them for many years, but I didn’t see them this season. The Trick or Treaters Stop Here sign was from Target last year. It lights up, and the reverse says Boo Out of Candy. Love it!

I love keeping the outside happy and cheerful for Halloween so that we don’t scare off any trick or treaters. Inside things get a little spookier each year as my boys get older. I’m trying mums again this year, with explicit care instructions provided by Mother. I also went ahead and put some pansies in the ground since my beds are looking so bleak. (We were waiting for cooler temps to replace some shrubs.)

Speaking of Trick or Treaters, I picked this Trick or Treat sign up at Target a couple of years ago and replaced the rope with ribbon. I keep it on the inside door knob until Halloween night.

The mesh ghosts are from Michael’s and I collected them over the course of a couple of years (they were in stores last year for sure). I love them because they store flat and take up no space! I have more ghosts down at the corner by our Little Free Library and in front of the mailbox this year.

Our side door entry is just as festive. This is the one most used by family and friends!

Like the ghost door hanger, I’ve had the candy corn for many years. The jack ‘o lanterns are also old from Target. I occasionally have to replace the bulb inside, but they last for a long time.

The only pot I’ve changed over for fall with pansies is this one. Lot’s of yard work to do here in the coming weeks.

I’ll share the rest of our spooky decor over the coming weeks!!  I hope you’ll follow along!!

  1. I love how often your little photo bomber, Elsa, can be seen peeking out thru your front door. She definitely adds to the cozy feel of home. 🧡🍂
