We arrived in our first Mediterranean port of Naples, Italy early this morning! It’s the most wonderful feeling to throw open the stateroom curtains and take in your new surroundings.

Naples
After a light breakfast in the concierge lounge, we were off for our Port Adventure. Our motorcoach made the scenic drive from Naples to Sorrento, with our guide narrating the way.
Sorrento
Our first stop in Sorrento was a lemon orchard! We sat in this absolutely stunning surrounding, while we enjoyed a mozzarella demonstration and tasting of local foods and drinks, including limoncello!
Next, we had free time to explore Sorrento on our own. It is the most charming little Italian seaside town. We took in the sites, scenes, shops AND all the food! We enjoyed a divine pizza lunch and all of the limoncello things.
Pompeii
Next, we boarded the coach with our guide and were off to Pompeii. Y’all, what an experience!!! This turned out to be in our top 3 for this entire trip. We marveled at this 2,000 year old lost city, how people lived so similarly to us, and at the terror they must have experienced when the volcano erupted. We are now watching the 3-part series on PBS about the new dig, which we learned about on our visit. Fascinating.
Onboard the Disney Dream
Back on the ship, I was dying to meet the Disney friends in their Italian duds. SO CUTE! The boys passed on this, heading to the 1820 Society gathering (John) and concierge lounge (Whit).
We hit the concierge lounge for happy hour before dinner. We chose the late seating (8:30 PM) to maximize our time in port.
We dined in the main dining room rotation at Animator’s Palate. This is one of our favorites and we had a lovely meal!
With the boys happy in their own activities, Honey and I ended our night in The District, the adult only area with lounges and entertainment.
We look forward to sleeping in tomorrow and a full day at sea!
