Breakfast

Per usual, I started with coffee in the concierge lounge. I never care much for the food on Disney’s islands, so I knew I’d need to fuel up before leaving the boat. I got a plate from Cabana’s and brought it back to enjoy on our verandah. Room service is always complimentary, but I didn’t want to disturb Honey’s beauty sleep tooooo much.

By the time we were ready to disembark at the island the weather had turned absolutely insane. Crew members were passing out ponchos but by the time we were 10 steps off of the ship we were soaked through. I asked Honey if he thought we should go back but he assured me we could not get any wetter. LOL. The conditions were crazy – the rain was pelting us sideways, the bridge was flooding and we could barely see the ship, but we kept moving forward. It turns out they closed the gangway for about 1.5 hours just minutes after we got off.

Our first stop was to my friend T’s cabana to wish her a HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Cabanas at Lookout Cay

Then, we headed right next door to our own to try and dry off and wait out this crazy rain. All activities on the island were paused and we were thankful to have a cabana to stay dry in. We ordered a few drinks to be delivered to the cabana and set it to wait it out.

Before too long, the skies cleared up and we had a gorgeous day ahead of us! We spent hours on the sandy white beach outside of our cabana, and reading in the shade on our porch. The water was crisp and stunning and perfect to cool off in every now and then.

We also did a little exploring around the Goombay Cultural Center hub.

I could not resist this darling bag at Treasures of Eleuthera.

The “main” attraction on the island aside from the stunning beach and water play area is the RUSH Junkanoo Celebration.

We had lunch at Serenity Bay BBQ, which is adult only. There are two family friendly locations as well, with all three serving the same menu. It was fine. Nothing to write home about.

We were among the last to leave the island, and took a golf cart from the cabana to the tram.

Then, we made the .5 mile walk back to the ship in sunshine and under blue skies. A very different experience from our crazy arrival.

Happy Hour

Back on the ship, we hurried to shower and then hit happy hour in the concierge lounge. I was starving, so ate a few small plates while we played cards.

We stepped out on the upper deck to admire a stunning sunset!

Palo Dinner

Since it was Pirate Night, we pre-booked Palo Dinner. It was spectacular, as usual.

Exhausted from the sun and food, we skipped out on the usual late night games and trivia!

I’ll share more details and thoughts on Lookout Cay soon!
