The Disney Magic {Everything You Need to know about the Spectacular Disney Cruise Line Concierge Experience}

For an elevated experience on any Disney Cruise Line sailing, I absolutely must recommend cruising as a concierge guest! Each ship offers a variety of concierge level staterooms, at a premium price. It is similar to booking a club level room at a resort hotel, but the perks, service and amenities go far beyond those with Disney Cruise Line. This post will take you through a variety of perks and benefits when cruising concierge, based on our personal concierge sailings. In short, it is always a spectacular experience.

Pre-Arrival

I work hand in hand with the concierge team on your vacation, starting more than 4 months prior to your sail date. Concierge guests are offered priority access to all of the experiences available to book onboard the fleet. This is a huge perk and the primary reason most of my clients book concierge to begin with. Of course, once back home, they book concierge time and again for the exceptional and personalized service they received onboard. Here are just a few of the things concierge guests get to reserve before the rest of the ship:

• Port Adventures
• Activities at Disney Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, including private Cabanas (on select sailings)
• Adult-exclusive dining reservations at Palo
• Senses Spa Appointments
• Beverage Tastings
• Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
• Pirate’s League (on select sailings)
• It’s A Small World Nursery
• Dining rotation and seating requests
• Character meet and greets

Priority Embarkation

Concierge guests are whisked through the embarkation process at warp speed, avoiding massive crowds and long waits. You will relax in the Concierge embarkation lounge at port prior to boarding the ship, enjoying seating, beverages and charging stations for your devices. Once guests being boarding the ship, concierge goes first, meaning you get several more hours on board and will find the common spaces less crowded than any other time during your voyage.

Welcome Aboard Lunch

Once onboard, concierge guests are invited to an exclusive welcome lunch with a special menu. A glass of beer or wine is included so you can chink those glasses and say Cheers to Bon Voyage! Welcome aboard bubbles are also served in the concierge lounge on embarkation day.

Concierge Lounge

A private, keyed entry, lounge is available to Concierge Level guests on Disney cruises. This beautiful space is the perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink, have a meal, or work with a concierge to finalize any details of your trip. The service here is top-notch.

The lounge can be used as a wonderful extension of your stateroom, which can start to feel small after a while. Dad can take the kids to the lounge for a snack or treat and some cartoons while mom gets ready. Mom can escape to the lounge for coffee while the kids sleep in. Larger families and groups use the space for gathering more intimately than they would be able to otherwise. The lounges are beautiful, well appointed and spaces you will find yourself retreating to more often than you might have thought!

Disney Magic Concierge Lounge Seating & Bar

The concierge lounge is available to guests from 7AM to 10PM, with a variety of food and drink – hot and cold – items at each service time.

Complimentary bottled water, soft drinks, milk and juices are available all day long. Your stateroom attendant will also stock the fridge in your room with your favorites!

Specialty coffees, teas and hot chocolate are available throughout the service hours at the touch of a button.

Daily offerings include Breakfast from 7 – 10:00 AM.

Lunch snacks and afternoon offerings from 11 AM – 4:30 PM (food and beverages can be enjoyed in the lounge, your stateroom, and any other location on the ship!)

Dinner snacks from 5-8:30 PM and Dessert Treats all day, also from 9-10PM

Complimentary beer, wine and cocktails from a full bar are available each evening from 5-10PM. These are not house offerings, but a very nice selection that you will absolutely love! Wine glasses are filled to the top with a friendly smile. Cocktails are made to order. It is a wonderful experience and you are welcome to enjoy happy hour in the lounge, or take it to go.

Concierge Sundeck

The Concierge Lounge is home to an exclusive Sundeck with a variety of seating! We loved sitting here in the shade / cool to read, play cards and enjoy each other’s company.

Surprise Treats

Concierge guests often receive special treats throughout their cruise. For example, we came home to a lovely fruit tray the first night. And, our nightly turndown service was top notch. We received a lovely commemorative print on our last night. All of this adds a touch of magic to an already amazing vacation!

Character Meets

Concierge guests typically have the opportunity to enjoy a private Disney character meet-and-greet in the lounge. While we chose not to attend on this sailing, concierge guests were able to meet Mickey right in the lounge! These pics are from the Dream character meets in July.

Early Access to the Walt Disney Theatre for Live Broadway Style Shows

Thirty-five minutes prior to the start of the show, see meet the Concierge Team to be escorted through an exclusive entrance to the Walt Disney Theatre to choose your seats before the doors open to the rest of the audience! You avoid long lines and get the pick of the litter seat wise! These shows are spectacular and not to be missed. They have a cart waiting with popcorn and bottled water but you can also bring a drink from the lounge.

Complimentary Fresh Popcorn before Showtime

Simply present your Gold Key To the World Cards at the refreshment stands before any movie or show and enjoy fresh popcorn. My kids LOVE this!

Internet Package

All concierge guests age 18+ enjoy 24 hours of “basic surf” internet. Suite guests receive complimentary internet for the entire voyage.

Stateroom Amenities

Concierge guests enjoy upgraded toiletries, a menu of pillows to select from and so much more!  All staterooms have a refrigerator stocked with complimentary bottled water and sodas of your choice. These are the little details that truly elevate the experience!

Early Debarkation

After breakfast in the concierge lounge, the concierge team will escort you right off the ship. This is such a lovely way to end your voyage. You take a private elevator down to the gangway. I realize this may not sound like a big perk, but if you’ve ever stood in the lobby with your luggage, family and a thousand other guests waiting to get off the ship, you will know it is!

Concierge Team

Once you’ve sailed concierge, I think you’ll agree that the Concierge team are the best perk of all. This incredible group of crew members want nothing but to ensure YOU have a spectacular vacation. You will never wait in the queue at guest services or pound the app trying to get a beverage tasting. The concierge team handles every detail – be it an excursion, onboard payments, laundry, changing dining or ANYTHING you can dream up.

Is It Worth It?

Concierge staterooms sell out on every voyage, often long before regular staterooms. Prices vary according to season, ship and sail date and the rooms do come at a premium. If you’re looking for a personalized, elevated more luxury experience then YES you must do concierge. If you do not like buffets, crowds or waiting in lines, this will be well worth it to you for the experience alone.

That said, if your budget doesn’t allow for concierge I have ZERO hesitation in recommending you take the cruise. I’ve sailed with Disney 13 times and half of those have not been concierge. I have always had a spectacular experience.

Disney Cruise Line vacations are my family’s #1 vacation ever! No matter how you cruise, you will love the service and attention to detail on Disney ships. Nobody else compares!
