Our Haunted Halloween Home Tour continues in the dining room today! Dare to dine with us?

In past years, I’ve gone for an elegantly spooky look in this space, but since this is now our only dine-in area, I decided to keep things a little more happy spooky. I change it up every year, but reuse many of the same pieces.

I couldn’t walk away from the fabulous velvet bows when I spied them at Target, and they were the jumping off point for this year’s look.

If you think about a table in layers, start from the bottom and work your way up. I began with a black and white paper runner I already had.

All of the china and silver are things we use regularly. The plates were a gift from Mother years ago (Spode) and the salad plates were collected over the years from places like Pottery Barn and HomeGoods. The candlesticks were part of our wedding china and remain one of my favorite sentimental details.

With the vintage-y bows in place, I was inspired when I ran across these traditional jack-o-lantern buckets at Walmart. For just a few dollars, I grabbed one large bucket for the centerpiece and four minis to use as place cards. You can see how I dressed them up with glitter and bows in this post.

I am using my cute little Mickey ghost pillow here this season. It always makes me smile.

Over on the sideboard, you’ll find a cauldron full of eyeballs… a creepy favorite! The eyeballs are from Grandin Road (still available!) and the cauldron was from Williams Sonoma two years ago. It’s food safe, so I can also use it for punch, soup, or candy on Halloween night.

Since we dine here daily, I eventually removed the place settings and cards and just left a runner and jack-o-lanterns. After all… we live here!

Our next stop on the tour comes next week with the living room!
