Look for the Helpers

April 16, 2013July 28, 2015

Like so many of you across this great country, I pray for all of those effected by yesterday’s horrific events in Boston.  I have a friend that worked so very hard to train and raise money ($10,000!) for her run, and was so relieved to hear that she and her friends and family were safe. … Read More

On My Bedside {The Hangman’s Daughter}

April 15, 2013July 28, 2015

One of the things I loved most about The Hangman’s Daughter by Oliver Pötzsch wasn’t discovered until the very end – that the author is a descendant of the Kuisl family and, after extensive research, wrote this engaging fictional account of his own history and ancestors.  The book provides an amazing sense of place in… Read More

Young Chefs Academy

April 14, 2013July 28, 2015

After having such a fab experience with Young Chefs Academy at a birthday party a couple of years back, I jumped when Living Social had a deal to send both of my boys to a class for half the price!  It was a bit of a hike to get to the Marietta-Acworth location, but was… Read More

Pinterest Picks {7 Taste Tested Recipes}

April 13, 2013July 28, 2015

I try really, really hard to only pin things that are truly inspiring or that I really might do one day.  Because let’s face it, it’s so easy to pin anything and everything that your boards can become a hot mess in no time flat. That being said, I’ve tried quite a few recipes from… Read More

Being Happy {Free Printable}

April 12, 2013August 1, 2015

Lilly Pulitzer Rousseau, the colorful lady behind the label I love so much, passed away earlier this week. There’s no doubt that she made this world a little happier and lot more colorful. I’ve created a few printable files with my most adored Lilly-ism – the one I live by day in and day out…… Read More

Skirting the Issue

April 11, 2013July 28, 2015

We’re back in Atlanta and the first stop we made was to pick up the new slip covers for my dining room chairs.  Yee haw!!!!!!  I’m pretty much in love… We bought the dining set as a, well, SET for our first anniversary.  It’s the only “set” of anything that we own and, while I… Read More

Savannah: A Whole Lot of Nothing

April 11, 2013July 28, 2015

After go go going for the last few days, we spent our last day in Savannah doing a whole lot of nothing.  The PCP played games on the kindle and worked on a puzzle all day long.  Mother and I finished sewing a little balloon shade for my closet.  And we all soaked up the… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
