For our anniversary last month, we scooted intown for a brief weekend getaway while Mother and Daddy-O generously held down the fort at home. We tried a few new eateries, including a casual breakfast at Holler & Dash. When we arrived around brunch time on Sunday morning, the line was nearly to the door. Since we had no kids and no real timeline, this didn’t scare us away. :-)
I ended up choosing the “most popular” item on the menu because it sounded amazing! The KICKBACK CHICKEN biscuit sandwich included fried chicken, goat cheese, green onion and sweet pepper jelly w. a kick. I chose cheddar grits for my side (a true stand-out!) and thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
Honey went with the GRIT BOWL of cheddar grits, bacon, fried eggs, green onion and a shot of hot sauce. I don’t care for fried eggs, but he said it was all tasty.
At my insistence, we shared THE JAM – Nutella and raspberry jam on a biscuit. Doesn’t everyone eat breakfast dessert?! Seriously though, it was decadent and so rich that between the two of us we probably ate only half.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely bring the kids back should the opportunity present itself. I think they would love it! Be prepared for quite a wait and a hearty, indulgent meal.
