A Gallery Wall for Brother

November 21, 2013July 28, 2015

As revealed on Instagram a little while back, John’s gallery wall is up.  I took a wee break from the room after that, but project: brother’s room is moving full force ahead as of today. Old Try sent me the Red Ryder print for Christmas last year and I knew the moment I opened it… Read More

The Banquette

November 18, 2013July 28, 2015

If I were a betting woman, I’d say this strange little niche in our den was probably a wet bar back in the day.  Call me crazy, but the weird overhead light and outlet placement kind of give it away. Before we moved in, we had our general contractor build this sweet little banquette in… Read More

Chalkboard Clothes Line

November 15, 2013July 28, 2015

Honey’s been busy as a bee building chalkboards, what between the one for the porch and this new edition to John’s room. It hangs behind the door next to the desk area.  I mapped out a J using the same process I did for the baby’s W last year.  I also fashioned a little “clothes… Read More

Brother’s Room

November 12, 2013July 28, 2015

You just may recall that I “kicked-off” John’s room update waaaay back in September.  And then you never heard hide nor hare of it again.  Well, it’s just been a rather slow process with little projects squeezed in here and there.  This is the original vision … lots of black, blue and fish at the… Read More

Tinkering {Before & After}

November 5, 2013July 28, 2015

Last week I unearthed a great coastal bird print that I purchased a while back and never used.  Well, one thing led to another and before I knew it I was tinkering with the bar we have hidden away in our living room armoire.  It’s looked like this for the last four years…    … Read More

Beware, Haunted

October 2, 2013July 28, 2015

Come inside… if you dare! A huge spider makes his way up the front facade, while pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns adorn the porch.  The Bronwyn Hanahan Candy Corn hangs on the door.   Now, enter at your own risk!  A bevy of black crows have taken over the foyer, and bats are flying rampant.  Not to… Read More

I Love {Southern Homes & Gardens}

September 26, 2013July 28, 2015

I was recently introduced to Southern Homes & Gardens and just can’t say enough good things about their gorgeous and so-Southern decor, accessories and gifts.  When they offered to send me the preserved boxwood wreath I’d been head-over-heels for, I jumped at the chance.  *squeals with delight*   I have big plans for this beaut… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
