Disney Day 4: Hollywood Studios

October 1, 2011August 3, 2015

After taking it *easy* for a day in Epcot, we were up and at ’em again for breakfast at Chef Mickey’s.  We hopped on the monorail and, after much pondering about the “cool building that the monorail goes right through”, the littles were pretty excited to disembark at the Contemporary for a change. The littles… Read More

Disney Day 3: Epcot

September 30, 2011August 3, 2015

Day three kicked off bright and early when we hopped on the monorail to Epcot.  I should back up… it first kicked off with the blaring alarm and me having to, mustering all of my will and inner strength, peel myself out of the bed, force a smile and prepare to go at it all… Read More

Disney Day 2: Magic Kingdom

September 29, 2011August 3, 2015

Today was the day I’ve been so looking forward to for seven months.  The day my littles (and Honey too) step off the monorail, walk through the grand gates at the Magic Kingdom and take in the sights and sounds of Main Street with Cinderella’s Castle gloriously ahead in the distance.  And it was everything… Read More

Disney Day 1: Animal Kingdom

September 28, 2011August 3, 2015

We arrived at Animal Kingdom bright and early and bee-lined straight to the Kilimanjaro Safari, where we saw loads of amazing African creatures.  I was just in utter disbelief that the things weren’t caged in. They appeared to be roaming totally free.  How amazing!! We were lucky enough to see the four month old baby… Read More

Leg 3: Disney World

September 27, 2011July 28, 2015

Well, seven months of planning, dreaming and anticipation came to a head today when we finally revealed the secret of a lifetime to the littles… … Rise and Shine, we’re going to Disney World! Oh, if you could have seen the expressions on their sweet little faces.  It was so worth the wait in telling… Read More

Disney Bag Tags

September 24, 2011July 28, 2015

On my printing and laminating spree, I also churned out nearly a dozen bag tags. For each of the littles bags.  Names on front, contact info on back. For the family’s bags, strollers and other paraphanalia.  Name on front, cell phone on back.  Hopefully the colorful ribbon will help us spot our stuff. Like our… Read More

Messages from Mickey {2011 Edition}

September 23, 2011July 28, 2015

Over the last seven months, I’ve sporadically scoured the internet and polled anyone and everyone I know that’s been to Disney for tips and tricks to making the most magical vacation possible while saving a dime where we can.  Somewhere along the way, I picked up a tip that it’s a great idea to purchase… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
