Back to School Door Decor

August 4, 2021August 4, 2021

I’ve packed up the flags and fish and flower door hangers that were remnants of summer and pulled out the school things! We were gone so much in July that our house needs some tending to. You can see here that a wind storm blew a vacant bird nest off its perch (upper right). The… Read More

Flags for the Fourth

June 24, 2021June 25, 2021

I absolutely love patriotic decor! I think there’s nothing better than a house flying the stars and stripes. We had all of ours up in time for flag day last week and will enjoy them through July. I have used the same buntings and smaller flags for quite a few years. I store all of this… Read More

Our Easter Entry

March 30, 2021March 30, 2021

I have so enjoyed watching Spring gently unfold in my yard and neighborhood. Over the last week, green is popping up everywhere and it sure does feel cheerful and hopeful. I’ve had my Easter door hangers out since St. Patrick’s Day. I’m using my Have Mercy cross attached it to a boxwood wreath (from Target, approximately 24″.)… Read More

Feeling Lucky

March 3, 2021March 5, 2021

I don’t know about you, but the sunshine and impending season of spring are making me feel happy, hopeful and lucky! March came roaring in around here, but one of the first things on my list March 1 was to swap out Valentine’s Day for St. Patrick’s Day out front. Honey hung my two Irish… Read More

Be Mine Door Decor

February 9, 2021February 9, 2021

We finally made it to February and I promptly put out my favorite Bronwyn Hanahan Be Mine door hanger!  I particularly love it because of the cheerful pinks and reds in what is usually a dreary month in Atlanta. My pansies still look pathetic. I’m definitely going back to rosemary topiaries next year! I am still loving… Read More

Winter Welcome

January 6, 2021January 7, 2021

I looked for a long time for the perfect thing for our front door in those winter weeks between Christmas and Valentine’s Day before finding this Have Mercy cross a few years ago. I love putting it up at the start of January, and then again for the Easter season. I chose “peace” and requested that the… Read More

Turkey Time Welcome

November 4, 2020November 5, 2020

Well, November came rushing in with a crazy start didn’t it?! My Halloween decorations come down rather quickly, and I updated my door hangers for Thanksgiving. My pots with the ferns in them quite literally blew away in Hurricane Zeta’s winds. One of them cracked into multiple pieces and was irreparable. I had these two… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
