Thankful

November 22, 2011July 28, 2015

Thanksgiving is just three days away and our Give Thanks tree is bursting with blessings.  Of all the countdowns we do around these parts, this one is my very favorite. After my original post, I received quite a few questions about how I made the tree.  Since it was pre-blogging days, I don’t have a… Read More

Turkey Treats

November 16, 2011July 28, 2015

Inspired by something I pinned a while back, the baby and I set to work making Turkey Treats for Thanksgiving parties at both little’s schools this week.  I should clarify…I set to work making Turkey Treats while the baby gobbled up the ingredients as fast as he could chew. These really couldn’t be easier!  We… Read More

Turkey Talk {Printable}

November 15, 2011November 23, 2015

Last Thanksgiving I introduced a memorable new family tradition – Turkey Talk.  We passed around a bowl of questions throughout the meal.  When the bowl came to you, you picked your question, read it aloud and answered it.  The premise behind the “game” is that sometimes the people you are closest to are the people… Read More

Give Thanks

November 2, 2011July 28, 2015

Last November I made a “Give Thanks” tree to hang in the play room for the month. Every day we each add a construction paper leaf to the tree with something for which we are thankful. Anything goes on the this tree…everything from God to Happy Meals popped up last year.  To kick off 2011,… Read More

Switch Witch

November 1, 2011July 28, 2015

After carefully pouring though his loot last night, the PCP selected five (FIVE!) pieces of candy to keep and left the rest out for the Switch Witch. And by the time he got home from school today, she had switched the candy for a much coveted pack of Pokemon cards.  You see, the Switch Witch… Read More

Girl Mickey (or is that Minnie?)

October 25, 2011July 28, 2015

After about three seconds of the PCP’s prodding, Honey and I agreed to step out in costume this Halloween.  And I’m soooooooo excited!!  *squeals with delight* So, to go along with Cookie’s Mickey Mouse costume, I’ll be attired as “girl Mickey”.  (Or is that just Minnie?)   It was a natural choice, given my current… Read More

Halloween Count Down

October 3, 2011July 28, 2015

My Disney recap was a few days behind, so we’ve been back for a couple of days decorating and counting down to one of our favorite holidays of the year…HaLlOwEeN!!!!! If there’s one thing we all love and get behind around these parts, it’s counting down to anything special.  We counted down to Christmas, counted… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
