Dark Chocolate Dessert Hummus

After hearing rumblings about this interesting sounding chocolate hummus at Fun Friday and my girls mini-getaway this weekend, I had to give it a try!

Our Dark Chocolate Hummus is crafted with only non-GMO project verified and gluten free ingredients. All-natural steamed chickpeas are blended with rich cocoa, organic sugar, and vanilla, to offer a smooth, creamy texture and a decadent flavor that pairs wonderfully with pretzels, strawberries, and more.


I put this plate out for dessert after dinner the other night and it was devoured in no time flat.  I served it with strawberries, pretzels and teddy grahams for dipping.  The strawberries and pretzels were the best, in my opinion.

The Verdict – It’s Delicious!!!

It is sweet, tasting and having the consistency of chocolate pudding.  I literally could NOT believe it is actually made of chickpeas.   This is a great option to keep in the fridge for company, or to carry to someone’s house in a hurry.  Not to mention, it’s quite the conversation piece.

I found it in the refrigerated section of the deli at Publix with the rest of the hummus.

  1. I’ve been making this for years! Never knew there was a store-bought version available. I’ll have to look for it!

    Chocolate Hummus

    1/2 cup(s) chickpeas (15 oz), loose skins removed, washed, drained
    3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/2 cup(s) sugar
    3 Tbsp sweetened condensed milk
    3 Tbsp hot water

    Instructions
    Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender; blend until smooth. Allow to set up in refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Yields about 2 tablespoons per serving.
