Bright suns, as they say on Batuu! I’m back to share my family’s planetary excursion to Batuu and other details of day 2 onboard the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. While I intend to share enough to get you excited and answer questions you may have, I will include NO spoilers for the experience in my reviews. Trust me when I say this is well done, immersive and an absolutely incredible experience! You will LIVE your Star Wars story and nothing I share will give away too much information.

Buffet Breakfast in Crown of Corellia
Grab a light bite and cup of coffee to go OR enjoy the best breakfast in the galaxy with hearty and tasty choices in the dining room. We dined in, wanting to soak up every moment onboard, and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. Once again, the food was tasty and gorgeous. I couldn’t get over the amount of thought and creativity that went into every single offering!
Batuu Transports
Fueled up for the day, we were ready to take our transport to the settlement of Black Spire Outpost on the remote planet of Batuu. We were given Chandrlia Star Line pins to wear so that crew members on Batuu could easily spot us. And, that they did! Every place we went we were greeted and asked about our excursion, the Halcyon and our day. It was pure magic!
First, we spent a few moments in the Climate Simulator for a briefing and to get acclimated to the air on Batuu. Every detail was thought of.
Transports are provided by local operator Oga Garra and leave every 15 minutes. The experience and story is never broken – not for one minute – during your stay on the Galactic Starcruiser.
Guests of Chandrila Star Line enter Batuu via a series of winding walkways. Crew Members give you a cold water for your time on the Outer Rim.
Batuu Excursion
At the planet of Batuu you’ll be immersed in the alluring offerings of a mysterious outpost and thriving port. It’s a haven for scoundrels, rouges and smuggler sand you are bound to bump into someone you recognize.
Batuu’s largest village is a settlement known as Black Spire Outpost, which has become a thriving destination for those who would prefer to go about their business unnoticed—scoundrels, rogues, smugglers and, recently, whispers in the woods reporting sightings of individuals associated with the Resistance. The modern village is built on the remains of crumbling structures built by a long-extinct civilization.
While on Batuu, be sure to check your Datapad for messages and special missions based on your personal storyline. You can also stya on top of afternoon activities so that you don’t miss anything on the Halcyon.
Expedited entry to Millennium Falcon is included on your M-Band. Simply tap and go! There is a special story over-lay for Halcyon guests so do not miss this attraction! Here, you will fly the Millennium Falcon on a thrilling interactive smuggling mission! Travelers make their way through an impressive queue to be assigned a role in the mission. Each mission is designed for 6 guests, with the first two being pilots, the middle two gunners and the last two engineers. Once inside the Millennium Falcon, the pilots drive the ship while the gunners shoot on command the the engineers work to repair the ship.
Expedited entry to Rise of the Resistance is also stored on your M-Band. Be sure to interact with the crew of the First Order, letting them know you are a guest of the Halcyon. And, if you happen to have any videos of Lieutenant Croy dancing, that will be of interest to them. :-)
Hidden in the forest outside Black Spire Outpost, the Resistance is gathering recruits for a secret mission. With the First Order desperate to extinguish the spark of the Resistance, the mission is bound to have unexpected twists and turns. When your transport is captured by an imposing First Order Star Destroyer filled with legions of stormtroopers—and even Kylo Ren!—you’re going to need all the help you can get. Fortunately, a covert team of Resistance fighters—including Rey and BB-8—is at the ready to give you a fighting chance to escape… and a chance for the Resistance to rise.
No excursion to Batuu is complete without a stop at an Image Scanner (PhotoPass).
No, you cannot bring home the Porg.
Oga’s Cantina is a tucked away spot to sip on local beverages for both young ones and adults. Inside, bounty hunters, smugglers, rogue traders, and weary travelers of all ages come together to refuel, enjoy music, and conduct meetings—no questions asked. With an expansive menu of exotic concoctions for young ones and adults, the cantina is a welcome rest stop before your crew’s next galactic journey. We popped in for Fuzzy Tauntauns and to complete a special mission!
Lunch credits are loaded to your Datapad for use at Docking Bay 7 or Ronto Roasters. Members of our party split up and did both.
I can’t say it enough times, but stay on top of communications on your Datapad, and other activities. We did some droid hacking while walking around Batuu.
Eager to get back on the Halcyon, we made our way to the Chandrila Star Line terminal. We were greeted with cool towels before boarding our transport pod back to the starcruiser.
Lunch in Crown of Corellia
A buffet lunch is also served in the Crown of Corellia. We couldn’t resist stopping by to check out the yummy offerings.
Spirit of Adventure
Back on the Halcyon, the boys were off on missions while Honey and I enjoyed a cocktail class in Sublight Lounge.
Lightsaber Training
All passengers are afforded time to wield a lightsaber and face off against a dynamic training remote. Under the tutelage of the Saja, you’ll learn the basic movements and ancient philosophy behind this elegant Jedi weapon. This is a highlight and the boys agreed they all enjoyed it immensely more than they thought they would!
Image Scanning Session
John opted out of this activity as he chose not to dress up, but the other three of us enjoyed a fun 20 minutes with a team of two photographers.
Datapad Communications and Missions
We were also called in various directions on the ship. In addition to the Datapad, kiosks around the ship can be accessed by your M-Band.
I promised not to give away too much, but suffice it to say I was a busy bee! From missions on the Bridge and Climate Simulator to bumping into Rey, keeping a few storm troopers occupied and having a surprise “birthday party” in the Engineering Room, it was an AMAZING night!
Other activities happening on the Halcyon:
- Droid Racing – The action is fast, frenetic and always unpredictable. Compete to see whose droid can navigate an obstacle course in the Atrium the quickest while staying in one piece!
- Cantina Chronicles – A unique tasting of exotic, exclusive non-alcoholic cocktails hosted by a knowledgeable mixologist who shares some fun, interesting and even startling stories of each drink’s origins, ingredients and careful preparation.
- Galactic Trivia – Test your knowledge of all things in the galaxy. Questions in this quick, interactive game relate to planets, inhabitants and especially the Halcyon Starcruiser.
- Model Ship Building – They Halcyon Starcruiser is one of the most legendary and identifiable ships that has ever journeyed across the galaxy. Here’s your chance to assemble and decorate your very own model to take home. Kits are available for pre-purchase in the boutique.
- Sabacc Tournament – Come test your best game strategy against your fellow passengers!
- Loth-Cat Crew: Porg Detection Drill – Sharpen your porg spotting skills in this Loth-Cat Crew activity. Practice with our crew as they prepare for the common critters of the outer rim and search for stow-away creatures.
- Know Your Co-Pilot – How well do you think you know your co-pilot? Test the strength of your relationship against fellow travelers with a series of questions!
Sublight Lounge
The Sublight Lounge remains a hub of activity, between Holo Sabacc and crew members popping in to visit with guests. Snacks in the lounge are included, alcoholic beverages are not.
Atrium Entertainment
The story continued to unfold in the atrium, where we were treated to a performance by Gaya. Before we knew it, we were swept up in another mission. Not only should you communicate via your Datapad, but you should also make yourself available!
Captain’s Table for Taste Around the Galaxy Dinner Service in Crown of Corellia
For tonight’s meal, we delighted in a voyage of the senses with the chef’s specially-prepared, four-course meal of flavorful, exotic dishes inspired by planets throughout the galaxy. We were lucky enough to be among the few guests that scored a seat at the Captain’s Table!
On this cruise the planets Mustafar, Felucia, Kashyyk, and Chandrila were gastronomically represented.
The dessert was a lovely presentation and delicious to boot.
Halcyon Starcruiser Celebration
Our evening ended with the story neatly wrapping up in an atrium celebration! In honor of the Halcyon Starcruiser’s history of galactic voyaging, the last event of the night was an awe-inspiring pyrotechnic display featuring a very special musical soundtrack. Galactic sweets and treats were served in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. It was an out-of-this-world evening!
