Spring Fling 2023 {Backyard Bites & Sips}

We kicked off spring once again with a backyard soiree last month! We spent a few weekends cleaning up the porch, cabana and yard prior to Easter so we were ready to open it all up to friends, neighbors and family.

We set the food up on the porch, using the buffet table for plates, napkins and cutlery.

The menu was simple and some of our most favorite bites. Honey grilled pork tenderloins on the Big Green Egg prior to the party start. I made Tomato & Black Eyed Pea Salad, Beck’s Crackers and Jalapeno Cheddar Crackers. I ordered petit fours and thumbprint cookies from my favorite Atlanta bakery, McEntyre’s. It can all be done in advance!

‘The bar was outside in the courtyard on two folding tables. For a signature drink, I did Honey’s Whiskey Sour Slush. It is a favorite from my friend Ron!

There’s not much I love more than a home full of music, friends, laughter, food and drinks. Having these spaces filled with that feels so good.

This is an adult event and while we don’t have swimmers, it makes for a lovely backdrop. It was quite literally the most perfect spring evening.

While the doors to the house were open, I don’t think anyone left the backyard other than to use the restroom. The highlight of the night was the music by Matt Jackson. Everyone LOVED him!

We took down the ping pong net and used the courtyard table for seating. Bestie M and I also rigged up a cute little photo backdrop. Find those details here:

We partied late into the night and, I believe, a good time was had by all!

Even the teens made a stop by. For food, of course.

It was a great night. As usual, my only regret was not capturing enough photos of friends and family. My heart was full.

  1. Hi Amanda! Absolutely love your party/entertaining posts! Such a gorgeous event with every little detail perfect! Do you mind sharing where you found your large white wavy serving pieces? The trays and bowls? Also, the acrylic or glass containers you have the lemons and limes in? Love all of that and we are hosting a party in September! Thanks so much for posting your menu and recipes!

    1. Hi Susan, Those were from the Ballard outlet. They are the Beatriz Ball brand and are acrylic! The other small shells are old – I bought them from a Pink Clutch sale on Instagram.
