When we sat down to plan what is likely our last family spring break, Whit didn’t hesitate. He wanted to golf. And truthfully, that felt exactly right for this season. At the same time, we’ve always loved exploring our country together. We’ve been slowly chipping away at our USA bucket list, one meaningful trip at a time. So we landed on Arizona – a place that promised both wide open fairways and even wider open skies.
After nearly a year of anticipation, we finally touched down in Phoenix. We grabbed our rental car and set out for Sedona, watching the landscape transform mile by mile into something more dramatic, more striking, more… unforgettable.
I can tell you without hesitation, I have never seen a place more beautiful. I simply wasn’t prepared for the overwhelming awe of God’s creation in this way. The scale. The color. The stillness. It stopped me in my tracks.

And then we arrived at Enchantment Resort, tucked into the heart of Boynton Canyon, surrounded by towering red rock formations that quite literally take your breath away. It is one of those rare places where the setting is the experience. Peaceful, immersive and deeply connected to the natural surroundings.
We were greeted with the warmest welcome and instantly refreshed with a house-made prickly pear lemonade – the perfect first taste of the desert. After check-in, our bellman whisked us away by golf cart, offering a thoughtful introduction to the property along the way.
Enchantment Resort: Junior Suite Casita
Our junior suite was everything you hope for and more. Spacious, inviting and filled with charm, with sweeping red rock views in every direction. The design felt so intentional… earthy tones, natural textures and subtle Southwestern details that reflect the beauty just outside your door. It doesn’t compete with the landscape, it complements it.
Enchantment Resort: The Lodge
We were eager to explore and soon made our way to The Lodge, the true hub of the resort. This is where everything comes together. Dining, the lounge, concierge and check-in, the pool, tennis and pickleball courts, and a sweeping lawn set for archery and other activities. It is the kind of place you naturally return to throughout your stay, whether to start your day or wind it down.
Enchantment Resort: Che Ah Chi
We enjoyed happy hour before heading to dinner at Che Ah Chi. The setting alone is reason enough to go, with panoramic views of Boynton Canyon that feel almost unreal as the sun begins to set. Our meal was delicious, the service was truly excellent, and there was an ease to the entire experience that made it exactly what we needed after a long travel day.
And with a three-hour time change working in our favor, sweet dreams came quickly. We were officially settled… and so ready to explore.
