Wrecking Bar + Waffle Palace

February 27, 2013July 28, 2015

We celebrated a belated Valentine’s date night over dinner and a show down in Little 5 Points last weekend.  It was so much fun to leave our regular stomping grounds and head down to a part of the city we really haven’t visited since well before the littles came along! We enjoyed a lovely start… Read More

Medieval Times Atlanta

January 28, 2013July 28, 2015

Last night we donned our armor and carried our swords off to experience the pageantry and thrills of Medieval Times inside the King’s impressive 11th century Atlanta castle (that just so happens to be attached to a very 21st century mall, but I digress).  From the get go, the littles were completely awestruck.  In royal… Read More

Atlanta Girls “Trip”

November 19, 2012July 28, 2015

Each year a gaggle of my best college gals and I reunite for a weekend of shopping, wining and dining.  We’ve done NYC (a couple of times), Chicago, Savannah, the mountains (many times) and the beach and, sadly, as our littles get older it doesn’t get any easier to get away.  So, when we were… Read More

Southern Living 2012 Idea House

September 17, 2012July 28, 2015

After mass, Honey took the boys and I spent the day with Sister, Mother and Daddy-O down in Senoia at the 2012 Southern Living Idea House.  We’d all already poured over pictures on blogs and in the magazine but it was well worth the hour trip to see it in person and kick around the… Read More

The Walking Dead

September 10, 2012July 28, 2015

…is about how I feel right now.  We had so much fun this weekend that I’m surprised I’m still awake to tell you about it. We had baseball games Friday and Saturday. Stayed out waaaaay past our bedtimes at Six Flags. Cheered on the Yellow Jackets at Georgia Tech’s home opener Saturday night.   Attended… Read More

Six Flags Over Georgia

September 8, 2012July 28, 2015

We made our annual trip down to Six Flags last night and, with the PCP coming in at just a hair over 48”, a whole new world of thrill rides were ripe for the riding.  We’ll bring the baby back in a couple of weeks but since it was just Mommy, Daddy and the big… Read More

A No Good Very Bad Idea

July 1, 2012July 28, 2015

Everyone down South is ranting about the heat wave, as record highs are relentlessly beating down on Georgians from one end of the state to the other.  So what did we do on the hottest day of the year? Why, go to a four o’clock Braves game, of course.  A no good very bad idea,… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
