Big Boy Room {Before & After}

November 2, 2012August 6, 2017

Whit’s big boy room has been done for about a week but with all the Halloween craziness I just now found the time to write it all up!  For posterity’s sake, here’s a little reminder of the “before before”… Here’s the “before” – the sweet nursery where the baby spent his first three years on… Read More

Mapped Out

October 20, 2012July 28, 2015

I mentioned in my last big boy room progress report that I framed a copy of the Savannah River and Wassaw Sound nautical chart (procured from River Services in Savannah) in the gallery wall.  Weeelllll, the original ended up inside the secretary – I cut it down to size and used glue dots to adhere… Read More

I Love {The Cloche}

October 16, 2012July 28, 2015

One of my favorite decorative accessories is the cloche.  There is just something about those gently curved glass domes that make whatever is tucked underneath immensely more fabulous than it might otherwise seem. My most prized cloche in the collection is in the den.  I have one bronzed baby shoe from each little nestled inside… Read More

Ribba Love

October 15, 2012July 28, 2015

The latest project in the baby’s big boy room was putting up the gallery wall.  (And hanging the curtains, obvi!!)    I gathered up some of our most beloved pics of the baby, a few prints and a couple of other special items for the wall, including the Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am print from The… Read More

Two More Skirted Tables

October 11, 2012July 28, 2015

I’m still chipping away at the baby’s big boy room!  I started with two mismatched size tables that I liked for their height and similar sizes.  Unfortunately, that’s where the like ended.  The white table was picked up at an antique store (though it was more “junk” than “antique”) and the demilune was in my… Read More

Nevermore

October 4, 2012July 28, 2015

I mentioned when I shared our Halloween decor that I made another DIY canvas for the porch.  Here’s how: 1. Download my Nevermore image by saving the one below or emailing me for the full resolution file sized at 18”x24”.  The background is Edgar Allen Poe’s Nevermore poem. 2. I had mine printed in black… Read More

Come Inside…If You Dare 2012

October 3, 2012July 28, 2015

*bwahahahaha* I’m going to go ahead and warn y’all that if you dared to “come inside” last year you’re going to be seeing much of the same spooky decor.  It’s kind of the perfect example of leaving well enough alone! I made the wreath with strips of black tulle last year and added a darling… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
