Catherine Lovett’s Crab

September 18, 2012July 28, 2015

While at Tybee Social on our last trip down to Savannah, I came across a pair of paintings by Catherine Lovett that stopped me dead in my tracks… source …this photo hardly does them justice because what you can’t see is her signature use of gold leafing.  I mean, I was literally head over heels… Read More

Southern Living 2012 Idea House

September 17, 2012July 28, 2015

After mass, Honey took the boys and I spent the day with Sister, Mother and Daddy-O down in Senoia at the 2012 Southern Living Idea House.  We’d all already poured over pictures on blogs and in the magazine but it was well worth the hour trip to see it in person and kick around the… Read More

If you love a good before and after chair project as much as I do then you’re in for a treat today!  Remember this sad little chair that shared in my big boy room kick off? Weeeeeelllllll, a couple of yards of fabric and a trip to my favorite upholsterer later and she’s sporting a… Read More

Big Boy Room Kick Off

September 4, 2012July 28, 2015

Here’s how it all went down… Honey: I now know which one of the boys is your favorite. Me: What on earth are you talking about? Honey: Look at John’s room…full of cool things and decorated nicely.  Now, look at the baby’s room.  It looks like a victorian grandmother died in there.  Please do what… Read More

Guest Bathroom {Before and After}

August 27, 2012July 28, 2015

Aside from the gleaming brass and frosted glass on the shower door, the guest bathroom had been so nicely updated we were tempted to forgo this blue monstrosity and use this as the master!  Alas, we decided Mother and Daddy-O would be much more likely to come watch the littles with a lovely suite to… Read More

Monogrammed Canvas

August 20, 2012July 28, 2015

The minute that The Nester’s monogrammed canvas popped up on my Pinterest feed, I knew then and there that it was the perfect piece for my guest bathroom.  (Picture from The Nester) You see, I had a large space of wall to fill and not a whole lot to spend!  I already owned the large… Read More

The Old Try

August 8, 2012July 28, 2015

Earlier this Spring, I purchased a few posters from The Old Try – a Southern print shop North of Mason Dixon’s.  Every single aspect of ordering from The Old Try was so remarkably remarkable that I’ve been remiss to put off this posting for so long! I spent a great deal of time pouring through… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
