Kick Off

September 3, 2015September 8, 2015

Tonight is the season opener for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and I got my door decor changed out just in the nick of time!  (Heeeeeyyyyy, Elsa girl!  I taught her to sit and stay!!!) I swapped out the school bus that marks each new school year for our Georgia Tech football.  These, and nearly all of… Read More

The Big Yellow Bus

August 4, 2015August 11, 2015

Y’all, as difficult as this is to come to terms with, I have put my big yellow bus door hanger back out front.  *gulp* I suppose if summer must end, a cheery door hanger is a must.  This is one of my Bronwyn Hanahan Art favorites.  Of course, I’d be lying if I said I ever met one… Read More

America, America

June 25, 2015June 22, 2017

I can’t think of a more patriotic way to mark America’s birthday and our love for our country than flying the glorious Old Glory. I keep a tub of flags in all shapes and sizes and reuse them year after year. They only take a few minutes to put out because we leave the mini… Read More

Feeling Crabby

June 4, 2015July 31, 2015

It’s June, y’all!  And that means it was time to swap out the door decor for something bright, sunny and summery!! Mother made the this cute little crab out of screens a couple of years ago and he’s always a favorite to pull out.  We made similar shamrocks prior to her making this crab.  You… Read More

May Flowers

May 28, 2015July 31, 2015

Somehow the month got away from me (well, let’s be honest… I know how it happened between birthdays, school, sports, anniversaries, Mom’s Day and the likes) and I never got around to sharing my new fun and colorful May door decor!!   I had been using a large basket of French tulips for eons and,… Read More

Door Decor

April 10, 2015July 31, 2015

As I’m sure y’all have gathered by now, one of my go-to quick fixes for every season and holiday is to spruce up my front porch.  It’s a great place to add a little holiday décor and it makes the entire house so inviting for our guests.  Since we did our big curb appeal makeover… Read More

Welcome Easter

March 20, 2015July 31, 2015

After a couple of years of pining over Bronwyn Hanahan’s chevron cross door hanger, I finally  made one mine.  My only regret is not purchasing it sooner so that I could have used it for John’s First Communion last year.   Just as soon as St. Patrick’s Day was over (ie. first thing in the… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻 Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
