Bertie Botts Every Flavor Cereal

January 28, 2016February 2, 2016

John’s latest school project was a “Cereal Book Report”.  Based on a book they were currently reading, they had to invent a cereal and then make a commercial to promote it.  As luck would have it, he is the throes of the Harry Potter series.  I mean, thank goodness!!!  His obsession with all things Potter… Read More

On My Bedside {Beach Town}

January 27, 2016February 2, 2016

Mother lent me Beach Town by Mary Kay Andrews and it made for a fantastic vacation read while down at Disney (… in September… this post has been lost in the drafts).    She is one of my very favorite authors and I always look forward to her new releases.  Many of them are set… Read More

On My Bedside {The Good Girl}

January 6, 2016January 11, 2016

Sweet Bestie S delivered The Good Girl by Mary Kubica straight to my bedside when I was down with my appendectomy (so many months ago that I forgot I had it).  I tried reading it then but couldn’t string together two cohesive thoughts at the time, much less make sense of a book! This was… Read More

Well, well, well, what’s old is new again.  It’s been tooooo long since I shared an “On My Bedside” review.  I spent most of my evenings this summer with my nose buried in the Beautiful Creatures series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
