Listening Lately {3 Audio Books}

April 2, 2024March 26, 2024

Between a prom dinner for 40, the kitchen project, getting ready for Spring Break, two varsity sports and my job, life has been bonkers lately. My goal every day is simply to make it to the next day :-) I haven’t had time to pick up an actual book but I plowed through three audio… Read More

On My Bedside {The Midnight Library}

March 5, 2024March 6, 2024

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig was a charming and intriguing read. The Midnight Library exists in the place between life and death, and each book in the library tells the story of a life one could have read based on their choice. It was one of those books where I could see the picture… Read More

On My Bedside {The Things We Cannot Say}

February 9, 2024February 9, 2024

I’m back in my WWII historical fiction genre with The Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer. This is time hopping novel set in Poland that marvelously weaves a story between WWII Nazi-occupation and modern life in America. Like always in this genre, I was gripped by the heartbreak, the horror, the hardship, the will… Read More

I Love {Storyworth}

January 25, 2024January 25, 2024

For Christmas 2021, I gave each of the grandparents a subscription to Storyworth. Over the course of 2022 and into early 2023, Juju, Mimi and Epaw shared their stories and recorded their memories. For Christmas 2023, I was able to give each of the grown kids and grands these beautiful books. Each week, each of… Read More

On My Bedside {Empyrean Series: Fourth Wing & Iron Flame}

January 17, 2024January 17, 2024

My reading mission for 2024 is to make it through the LARGE stack on my bedside of TBR books. (to be read, as I’m seeing it called lately). I have all sorts of goodies there that I collected over the last year, most of them given to me by Marme or a friend who read… Read More

12 Books in 12 Months {Lessons in Chemistry}

January 4, 2024January 4, 2024

Well folks, it is time to wrap up my 12 Books in 12 Months review for 2023. The project came to a conclusion with Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. This one was laugh out loud funny and entirely entertaining to me. I very much enjoyed the quirky Elizabeth Zott and her shenanigans and, being… Read More

12 Books in 12 Months {The Bronze Horseman}

November 8, 2023November 8, 2023

We’ve made it to book eleven of my 12 Books in 12 Months project! For November I read The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons. I love World War II historical fiction and couldn’t put this one down. Of all the books I’ve read on this topic, this was the first one set in Russia. It’s a… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
