12 Books in 12 Months {The Push}

September 28, 2023September 26, 2023

Circling back to my 12 Books in 12 Months list, for September I read The Push by Ashley Audrain. WOW. Let’s start at the very beginning. This quote was on the first page, before the story starts. I stared at this page silenced, speechless and marveling at this. It took me a while to even… Read More

12 Books in 12 Months {Honor}

August 22, 2023September 20, 2023

Circling back to my 12 Books in 12 Months list, for August I read Honor by Thrity Umrigar. This is a sensational book where I fell in love with the characters, was virtually transported to India, became immersed in its customs, felt both love and horror, and absolutely could not put it down. Thrity share… Read More

On My Bedside {Reconstructing Amelia}

August 16, 2023August 16, 2023

I’ve mostly been sticking to my 12 Books in 12 Months list, but I flew threw my last one and had time for one in my usual genre – Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight. It has all the hallmarks of a good book for me – crime, suspense, relationship drama, twists and turns. Parts of… Read More

On My Bedside {12 Books in 12 Months: The Greatest Generation}

July 26, 2023July 26, 2023

I’m half way through my 12 Books in 12 Months project, a list compiled by YOU to kick off 2023. I have to say, every single one has been such a delight and many are not books that were on my radar. For July, and in my best patriotic fashion, I savored every story on… Read More

On My Bedside {12 Books in 12 Months: Daisy Jones & The Six}

June 22, 2023June 22, 2023

I’m trucking along with my 12 Books in 12 Months project, a list compiled by YOU to kick off 2023. I have to say, every single one has been such a delight and many are not books that were on my radar. For June I absolutely devoured Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins… Read More

On My Bedside {12 Books in 12 Months: Wish You Were Here}

May 26, 2023June 22, 2023

I’m clocking in with my May read just in the nick of time. Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult was an easy and engaging story. She wrote this book during the pandemic and it was the first fictional piece I’ve read that covers that timeframe. I suspect there will be many, many more to… Read More

On My Bedside {12 Books In 12 Months: The Dutch House}

April 12, 2023April 11, 2023

It’s time for the April installment of my 12 Books in 12 Months project, where the list of 12 reads came straight from YOUR top books you’ve ever read recommendations. Over spring break I literally devoured The Dutch House by Ann Patchett! This was a powerful novel and moving tale about the bond between two siblings and… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
Today I turn 50. I don’t know that I’ve done Today I turn 50.

I don’t know that I’ve done everything perfectly over the last five decades, but I do know this… I have no regrets. I raised the kids, loved the husband, got the dogs, took the trip, accepted the job, and showed up with my whole heart.

Friday night I celebrated with a house, yard and driveway full of friends and family at the party of my dreams. My parents helped pull it all together, and John rolled into town just in time to join the fun.

This morning started with coffee among the balloons and flowers, bagels from my favorite spot and some of the people I love most.

Here’s to the years ahead. Good food, good wine, good friends, belly laughs, Taco Tuesdays and celebrations that don’t wait for an occasion.

Grateful for this life and everyone in it. Cheers to 50. 🥂
