Valentine’s Day Sweets & Treats

Yesterday I shared our Valentine’s of yore with links to tons of free printables, and today I wanted to do a little roundup of other ways we celebrate throughout the month.  Since I usually blog in “real-time” I realize it makes it difficult to use some of my ideas.  Hence, the heads up of what we’ll be doing over the next couple of weeks :-)

I need to get up a few little touches of Valentine’s Day ASAP.  I usually only do the foyer and family office so it’s pretty easy!!

  1. Your Valentine celebrations are always so darling and sweet.

May God bless Jay with a successful surgery and comfortable recovery. What a precious boy. I am praying for him and your family.

  2. I cringed when I saw the first photo! Is that real money touching the candy? Don’t do it! Paper money is just about the filthiest item you could find! You would be better off licking the floor of a public restroom (sorry for the mental image) than eating food that has touched money. Maybe you could wrap the chocolates or make little certificates that can be exchanged for money?

    1. It’s not touching the candy. I cut squares of waxed paper to go between. The details are in the original post. It was from 3 years ago. Nobody came ill and suffered any long term effects. :-)

  3. I LOVE these Valentines Day ideas! Thank you for sharing. Just, one question…Is there something between the money and the candy, since money is full of germs???

    1. Yes!!!!!!!!! I cut squares of waxed paper. I guess I should have offered that in the details :-) No children were harmed with this Valentine – everyone was perfectly fine and healthy. LOL. This was years ago.

      1. Sorry about that, I should have known better. You always take such care and are so good at details :-)

        Love your blog!

  4. Here are my two cents..I thought this was clever and didn’t even notice any money was under the chocolates until today! Silly me was trying to figure out how you assembled the package, thinking the red containers were separate, then merged together (having not referred back to the original post, where you directly addressed the concern.)
I thought you had simply taken out the candy (i.e. secretly for yourself!) and replaced it with cash! Hmmmm…not a bad idea!

Take care today and may God bless you with comfort and strength. I am very grateful to hear that Jay is doing well.
    Hugs to all.

    1. Thank you for your humor, as always, and prayers, also as always. Jay is going to be just fine! Now, onto cinnamon hearts… I just purchased my FOURTH bag of the season yesterday. I have them stashed all over – my car, the kitchen, work, the office. It’s a real problem. xoxo

  5. Thank you for your sweet comments. It’s a problem on the west coast too! I had four bags also, until I discovered that two were actually cherry. Egads! Naturally, I had to buy more cinnamon, which now means I will be handing out the cherry and “stuck” with the good stuff. I hate when that happens. ;-) Enjoy the super weekend and all the best to your family.
