Lago Breakfast at Casa de Campo
Our morning started with a hearty buffet breakfast at Lago Restaurant, while enjoying spectacular views of the world-famous Teeth of the Dog course and the sparkling Caribbean Sea. The variety was impressive with local fruits, fresh pastries, Dominican specialties, and made-to-order omelets kept everyone at the table happy and full before our busy day.

El Spa at Casa de Campo
In the heart of Casa de Campo lies El Spa. Recognized with a Forbes Four-Star rating, this unparalleled retreat was designed for those seeking a transformative wellness journey. Featuring over 2,000 square meters of meticulously crafted indoor and outdoor facilities, El Spa redefines luxury in the Caribbean. With the boys happily playing golf, I partook in all the things during my full-day experience. It started with the hydrothermal circuit, a 45-minute experience encompassing a sauna, steam bath, vitality pool, cold water plunge, thermal loungers, and Kneipp Walk.
Afterwards, I took full advantage of the relaxation room to indulge in a solid hour of reading. I chose an aromatherapy massage featuring scents of rose, jasmine, and tuberose that left me feeling completely renewed. The rest of my day was blissfully spent at the serene spa pool, enjoying the ledge loungers, sumptuous amenities, and a light and lovely lunch from the Spa Café.

Dye Fore Golf Course at Casa de Campo
Meanwhile, the guys spent the day on Dye Fore: 27 holes, 7,740 yards long, seven scenic cliff-side holes dropping 300 feet to the Chavón River below, and breathtaking 360-degree views. Characterized by the most stunning vistas of the Dominican mountains, the river, the Marina, and Altos de Chavón, this dramatic course was their playground for the day. It was the boys’ first time golfing with a caddy, and they came back grinning ear to ear, raving about both the challenge of the course and the incredible experience.

Altos de Cahvon and La Piezzetta Dinner
In a setting reminiscent of a Mediterranean medieval village and overlooking Altos de Chavón, La Piazzetta is Casa de Campo’s first and most iconic restaurant. We just happened to dine here on Mother’s Day in the Dominican, and I was treated like royalty! The space, originally decorated by Oscar de la Renta, is the perfect venue for a family meal. In fact, we couldn’t help but remark that we felt like we’d been transported straight to Italy. The menu offers a seasonally evolving selection of Italian classics and inspired dishes, including an extensive variety of fresh handmade pastas. Every bite was exquisite.

Day two at Casa de Campo gave each of us something to love – relaxation, recreation, delicious food, and special moments together. It was everything we had hoped this trip would be, and more. Whether gazing over sweeping golf course vistas, sipping cocktails by the spa pool, or twirling pasta under twinkling lights, we felt incredibly lucky to be here making these memories together and celebrating the man we call Honey and Dad.
