Lago Breakfast

After a few days of breakfast at La Caña, Whit requested a return to the spectacular buffet at Lago. Here, you’ll find an impressive variety of offerings, local fruits, fresh pastries, Dominican specialties, and made-to-order omelets, all served with sweeping views of the world-famous Teeth of the Dog golf course and the sparkling Caribbean Sea. It’s the kind of breakfast experience that makes you slow down and savor the morning.

Minitas Beach Club

After breakfast, we were off to Minitas Beach. While the skies were a bit overcast, the weather held, and we happily spent the first part of our day reading, swimming, and simply relaxing in the warm Caribbean waters. This exclusive stretch of beach is impeccably maintained, with plush white loungers, attentive chair service, soft sand, and those signature turquoise hues. The boys grabbed lunch from the nearby food trucks, while Honey and I were more than satisfied from our indulgent breakfasts.

Casa de Campo Resort Pool

Later in the afternoon, we made our way back to the resort pool. While there were plenty of shaded loungers available, we opted to spend our time at the lively swim-up bar. With a fun atmosphere, excellent service, and tropical drinks flowing, it was the perfect spot to unwind, talk sports (always around here) and laugh about the week’s highlights (Honey’s tumble off the golf cart).

SBG Dinner at The Marina

After a quick refresh back at our room, we hopped in the golf carts and headed to the Marina. Inspired by the charming seaside villages of the Mediterranean, this vibrant hub caters to everyone from yachting enthusiasts to land-loving foodies alike.

Dinner at SBG was the grand finale we didn’t know we needed. The international menu with Mediterranean flair was a delight from start to finish. We sat right beside the water, shared a variety of dishes family-style, and enjoyed another spectacular sunset that felt like a perfect send-off. Once again, our lack of Spanish proficiency got us when Whit ordered a pasta full of mussels (he only eats his seafood raw). Honey took one for the team and traded his tableside pasta for Whit’s. He’s a good man… :-)

As we wrapped up our final night at Casa de Campo, we were filled with gratitude—for the peaceful days, the shared laughter, and the many memories made in this Caribbean paradise. Until next time…
