La Cana Bar and Restaurant Breakfast
Our morning began back at La Caña Bar and Restaurant with a healthy and hearty included breakfast. Named for the sugar cane crops that have shaped La Romana’s history since the 1900s, La Caña elevates local ingredients with French-inspired flair. Overlooking the sparkling pool and lush resort grounds, it is the perfect place to ease into the day with copious quantities of cappuccinos.
The Links
The guys were off to The Links for their second day of golf. With wide fairways giving way to challenging green complexes highlighted by tricky, undulating putting surfaces, The Links golf course showcases the artistry of Pete Dye’s genius. This shotmaker’s 18 weaves through the verdant resort grounds while offering spectacular vistas of the Caribbean Sea from several holes.

As for me, I ensconced myself in a cabana at the resort’s main pool. This sophisticated paradise is sunken amidst lush tropical surroundings and offers generous amounts of seating, shaded cabanas, and a swim-up bar. There’s even a poolside concierge service that delivers your favorite tropical cocktail right to your lounge chair. Between a great book, perfect weather, and impeccable service, I was in vacation heaven.
Altos de Chavon & Chilango Dinner
For dinner, we tooled back over to Altos de Chavón for another magical evening. We arrived just in time for a sunset so spectacular I’m not sure I’ll ever see another quite like it. Afterwards, we dined at Chilango, an energetic, colorful spot with bold flavors and a festive atmosphere. It was a standout of the week and a huge hit for the whole crew. No vacation day is complete without a little ice cream!
As our trip slowly winds down, I find myself feeling extra grateful for this beautiful place and the uninterrupted time spent together. Casa de Campo has truly delivered on every level and Day 5 was no exception.
