On My Bedside {Reconstructing Amelia}

August 13, 2014August 11, 2015

Reconstructing Ameila by Kimberly McCreight was one of my reads on our Rosemary Beach trip.  It was good, albeit a tish disturbing for a parent with its whole “how well do you really know your kid” kind of thing.  I would recommend it as a quick read, especially if you like Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl… Read More

School’s in Session Shindig

August 12, 2014June 3, 2017

There’s nothing we love more around here than a little celebration.  And if the first day of school isn’t case for a special snack then I don’t know what is!  These two were all smiles when they disembarked the bus and I funneled them straight to the back porch. As I briefly mentioned in my… Read More

The Last Hurrah

August 10, 2014August 11, 2015

Well, just like that the 74 days of summer vacation came and went. We crossed nearly everything off our summer bucket list, added a few extras to boot, and were left to just soak up the last dog day of summer. We swam, played a little corn hole and indulged in ice creams at the… Read More

Meet the Teacher {Free Printable}

August 7, 2014August 9, 2016

It’s terribly hard to believe that another school year is upon us!  The littles carried these little chocolate filled chalkboard topped treat jars to meet their new teachers… The baby was thrilled to find out he will be with Mrs. H – the very same teacher that he worked with for his entry assessment a… Read More

A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍 Back in my hometow A weekend I’ll never forget. 🤍

Back in my hometown celebrating the daughter of my sorority big sis, one of my dearest friends since the day we met at the ZTA house during rush.

For over three decades, we’ve shared so much life together. I can still remember decorating A’s nursery, celebrating birthdays and cheering her on through every stage along the way.

And now here we are, celebrating her wedding weekend in beautiful Savannah.

The entire weekend celebration was absolutely sensational, filled with faith, family, friends, happy tears, lots of laughter and more love than I can possibly put into words.

My heart is so full. 🤍 All of our best wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. 🤍
The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O The very best week at home with Mother and Daddy-O. 🤍

We ate all our favorite things, visited all our favorite places and enjoyed the kind of time together that never lasts quite long enough.

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍

And the sweetest gift of all was getting to spend the entire week with them… and Mother’s Day too. ✨✨
