The Boy’s Bath {Before & After}

January 23, 2013July 28, 2015

As always, I want to kick off the reveal with a reminder of the before.  This is where we started on move in day.  I’d never in my life laid eye on a tri-fold shower door or a tri-fold mirrored medicine cabinet until I became the proud owner of such lovely items.  All jokes aside,… Read More

Honey Does: DIY Flat Screen TV Cabinet

January 18, 2013January 24, 2017

Y’all, I am positively thrilled to have Honey with us today sharing one of his recent DIY projects.  So, without further ado, I turn over the reins to Honey… I know that Amanda recently shared the two paintings we had our family friend, Mary Pratt, paint for her Christmas present.  One of the things I… Read More

Let There Be Light

January 12, 2013July 28, 2015

Our little project for the weekend was cleaning up the original light post we “found” at the corner of our property.  I kid you not when I say that we “found” it.  It was almost entirely eaten up by massive, overgrown and total heinous shrubs (see bottom right of following picture) until Honey spent two… Read More

I Love {Mary Pratt}

January 10, 2013July 28, 2015

I’m back today with another of my favorite local artists – Mary Pratt of Pink Chair Studio.  Mary is mother to my dear friend Anna, grandma to two of the most darling little girls you could ever hope to know AND a stunning artist.  I’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know her over… Read More

I Love {House Portraits}

January 7, 2013July 28, 2015

Since the boys both celebrate birthdays within a month of Christmas, each year on their birthday we give them one, nice item that we hope they will have forever.  This year’s gift is rather tardy, however I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not like they’ve been chomping at the bit to get their… Read More

Things That Keep Me Up At Night

January 6, 2013July 28, 2015

I know it’s no secret that I can be a little hyperactive.  I don’t require a lot of sleep and I rarely sit still.  Sometimes I just can’t turn my mind off at night.  (A problem the PCP purports to have as well…although I think it’s one of his many stalling techniques.)  So, in the… Read More

Musings

January 6, 2013July 28, 2015

I’m still under the weather – but thankful that nobody else around here seems to be fazed by any sort of cold bug.  I caught Country Strong last night on some cable network and it was so darn good I couldn’t stand it.  I was completely shocked by both Gwyneth’s and Leighton’s songs.  And I… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
