The Month That Came Roaring In

March 7, 2026March 7, 2026

Happy March! I’ve been a little quiet around here this week. The month came roaring in with… the flu. I truly had no idea I even had it until I suddenly hit a wall. One minute I was fine, the next I could barely move. Not that there is ever a good time to get… Read More

Smoke, Sparks, and a Sophomore Send-Off

August 14, 2025August 13, 2025

We all know what they say about the best-laid plans. Like last year, I had planned and shopped for all of John’s favorite meals to enjoy in the week before his launch. Over the weekend, we organized all of his things in the garage and borrowed Sister’s behemoth car to start loading. This year was… Read More

s(NO)w Day

January 24, 2025January 23, 2025

It’s been a sloooow start back this January and I don’t mind at all. We had our big snow event last week and then enjoyed another free 1.5 days off school this week! That said, we haven’t seen even a smidge of snow here – just BITTER COLD! We spent our s{NO)w day snuggled up… Read More

The One Where We Got Pipes for Christmas

December 22, 2023December 24, 2023

Much like every Christmas, we kicked ours off with a pinhole leak right before Thanksgiving. It was in the basement so nothing was damaged, but the pipe was heading into the – ahem – twenty-two year old hot water heater so Honey called a plumber in to assess the whole scutation after fixing it. The… Read More

A One of a Kind Man

December 21, 2023December 21, 2023

Waking up today the world felt a little dimmer without our remarkable friend John. Honey and John became best friends in middle school, a camaraderie that spanned nearly four decades. They graduated as class of 1993 Raiders, and attended Georgia Tech together where they were pledge brothers and roomies a few times both at school… Read More

Anticipated News

September 27, 2023September 26, 2023

I am writing to you this morning with such a joyful heart – after 19 long days, I heard from my surgeon… I apologize for the delay, I was out of the country. The results from pathology show that the polyp was pre-cancerous and about to turn to cancer but it had not. It also… Read More

Life As of Late and a PSA

September 12, 2023September 26, 2023

I feel like I’ve been living a double life – smiling, celebrating, traveling, cooking and appearing to live the dream. After a really hard eight weeks, it is time to rally the prayer warriors and share what has been going on. I wrote this post on August 9 but didn’t have the courage to publish… Read More

Once I decided to have a party, the vision came to Once I decided to have a party, the vision came together quickly. I fell in love with a bottle of Chloe wine with a black bow standing in the aisle at Publix in Savannah… and the rest was history.

While pink would have been the obvious choice for me, I loved the idea of something more classic. Black and white, bows and a few (okay, a lot) monograms woven in.

I wanted everything to feel pulled together but still warm. The kind of space where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re somewhere special.

Every ribbon, every layer, every little detail… it all added up to exactly the feeling I was hoping for

Y’all come on in… 🖤🤍

I have so much to share from my 50th birthday part I have so much to share from my 50th birthday party. It was such a magical evening, and there are so many details to share and moments to convey that I’ve had to really think about where to even begin. So we’ll start here.

I went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to even have a party. Party planning is no small undertaking. But then again… I celebrate everything. And I knew I would be sad if this milestone year came and went without marking it in a meaningful way.

With a little encouragement from Honey, it was a go.

And once I decided, I knew exactly what I wanted. A celebration at our home, filled with the people who have shaped my life. I wanted the whole night to feel like me. And I wanted my guests to feel like they belong the moment they walk in. A night where conversations linger, and where you can look around and think… this is everything.

I’ll be sharing it all, but the beginning felt like the only place to start. 🖤🤍
