Sunday Supper

February 28, 2011July 28, 2015

This week’s Sunday Supper was so-Southern, so yummy and the the perfect end to an all around great day.  I’ve made the meal a couple of times in the last year – both recipes come from Southern Living – and it not only does it smell divine baking away in the crock pot, but it’s… Read More

Good Eats

February 10, 2011July 30, 2015

Last week I had the pleasure of dining out with both friends and family over a few remarkably yummy meals.  I am reflecting on the good eats of last week because I have been relegated to leftovers from my parent’s visit this week. The Melting Pot A few times a year, usually when bestie E’s… Read More

Heart Smart Cookies

February 8, 2011July 30, 2015

Last week (before the slump and sinus issue) the PCP helped me whip up a batch of one of our very favorite cookies – Chocolate Cherry Heart Smart Cookies from Cooking Light.  Now, I am no dietitian so I cannot clearly say WHY these cookies are smart for the heart, but I will promise you… Read More

Bless Your Heart, Beau

February 3, 2011July 30, 2015

I hopped out of bed bright and early this morning to put together a special Groundhog Day breakfast treat for the littles.  They were beyond excited to find hugs and kisses homemade waffles (in spite of what bestie S may believe, Bisquick IS totally homemade) and Groundhog hot cocoa when they ravenously raced down the… Read More

Sunday Supper

January 21, 2011July 30, 2015

A few months ago I started a tradition we call Sunday Supper around these parts.  I make a yummy meal, not necessarily fancy, and we eat in the dining room off of good china, use the silver, practice our manners, have John lead prayer, and just enjoy each other’s company.  Even when the company involves… Read More

Salty Sweet Delish

January 15, 2011July 30, 2015

Lately, my whole family has been totally into salty sweet desserts.  My mother started the trend with a delish pudding dessert (that I simply must share very soon) and, the other day, my sous chef and I introduced another must-make to the salty sweet line up.  It’s amazing I can get anything done with help… Read More

The Blizzard of 2011

January 11, 2011July 30, 2015

Yesterday in Georgia we awoke to a winter wonderland.  I spent a second or two savoring the snow covered yards, trees and roofs from the warmth of my home before the littles were clamoring to go out in it. But first, I insisted on a warm, homemade breakfast of biscuits hockey pucks and Savannah Bee… Read More

Mahjong, but make it cards. @playhootenanny gifte Mahjong, but make it cards.

@playhootenanny gifted me their Mahjong Playing Cards, and Honey and I took them along on our recent weekend away. They’re beautiful, easy to pack and such a fun way to play when traveling with an entire mahjong setup isn’t exactly practical.

We picked it up surprisingly quickly, and these have officially earned a spot in my travel bag.

I shared more on the blog today, including a link to the set on Amazon!

This trip was never really about New York. It was This trip was never really about New York.

It was about watching two incredible kids chase big dreams, cheering them on from the front row, and soaking up every minute together.

The city was amazing… but these memories mean even more. 🤍🗽

To JB and Cee: we couldn’t be more proud. Enjoy summer in the city!
