Happy Thanksgiving Y’all

November 24, 2011July 28, 2015

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! We essentially ate our way through the day – with the highlights being Turkey Cinnamon Rolls and a delish green bean side dish to accompany our traditional meal with Honey’s family. Back home, we further gorged on a non-traditional chili supper with cornbread waffles and pumpkin whoopie pies.  And once the littles… Read More

Starbucks Caramel Apple Cider

November 17, 2011July 28, 2015

Okay y’all, what I’m about to reveal to you is single handedly the most valuable piece of information I’ve gleaned from the internet.  Ever. You see, I have a slight, albeit seasonal, addiction to Starbucks Caramel Apple Spice.  So, imagine my excitement when I ran across this Starbucks hack on Pinterest.  And imagine my utter… Read More

Sunday Supper {On the Go}

November 14, 2011July 28, 2015

My blog-ff calliespondence recently brought home baby sister and, like so many did for me after growing our family, I headed right over, using a hot meal as a fantastic excuse to get my hands on gorgeous little Rinne.  (ahhhh…I just adore that name!) My new baby meals on wheels rules are as follows: 1) all… Read More

“Light” Salted Caramel Goodness

October 20, 2011July 28, 2015

Given my current obsession with Pinkberry’s salted caramel frozen yogurt, coupled with the ever so unfortunate fact that they have replaced it with peanut butter, I surprise even myself that this ice cream sat untried in my book of clipped recipes for seventeen months.   It all nearly came to fruition at a thrown together cookout… Read More

Perfectly Portioned Pizzas

September 1, 2011July 28, 2015

We looooove us some pizza around these parts.  Last week while snacking on some Trader Joe’s eggplant curry (mmmmmm…) and garlic naan, I had the bright idea to turn the naan into mini personal pizzas!  So a few days and one four pack of garlic naan later, we dined on perfectly portioned pizzas loaded up… Read More

Sunday Supper

August 17, 2011July 28, 2015

With Mother in town and Sister, her Mister and baby Bird over, we kicked off our last weekend before the advent of school with a delicious family summer supper on the deck.  I tried new recipes and have deemed them all keepers! Party Popcorn

July 16, 2011July 28, 2015

The PCP helped me whip up a batch of red and blue flavored popcorn for our Fourth of July sweets and treats table.  It was easy, festive and pretty delish to boot.   Using the recipe below, we mixed up one batch of red (cherry) and one batch of blue (berry). Party Popcorn 8 cups… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
