Shopping Savannah

June 28, 2012July 28, 2015

I mentioned our rainy weather earlier this week, and can I just say that the beach would have made for much cheaper days.  We ventured out in the monsoon to shop a few chains and a few locals.  We went stark raving mad buying up all sorts of coastal gems at Home Goods.  Corals and… Read More

Guide to Delightful Savannah

June 27, 2012July 28, 2015

NOTE: Updates to this post have moved HERE! This post is a long time coming – every day I get more and more emails asking for what to do, shop and eat in Savannah.  While I am pretty firmly planted in Atlanta, I am soooo grateful to still spend about a week a month down… Read More

Littles in Historic Savannah

June 25, 2012July 28, 2015

It was another great day down South!  I typically blather on about all the luscious eats and enviable shoppes in historic Savannah and, outside of Forsyth Park and the free water taxi that runs from River Street to the Westin, I’ve neglected to talk much about what to do with your littles downtown.  I get… Read More

Savannah Whirlwind

June 24, 2012July 28, 2015

We got to town last night and kicked off our stay with a whirlwind day! The littles awoke at the crack of dawn and we headed off to spend a sunny, hot and glorious day at Tybee.    Waterlogged and sand-laden, we grabbed some slushies for the littles and then hit a few Tybee must shops… Read More

a.lure Low Country Cuisine

May 5, 2012July 28, 2015

I’ve written about one of my fave Savannah restaurants, Kasey’s Gourmet Grille, a few times on this little blog.  If you recall, Kasey is one of my oldest and dearest friends and she just so happens to be married to the genius restaurateur, David Berman, now on his third grand opening behind the moss curtain.  … Read More

Spring Break: Savannah Day 3

April 4, 2012July 28, 2015

We hit the stores bright and early yesterday morning because it wouldn’t be a trip to Savannah without carting the littles around all.day.long to shop Savannah. Our first stop was one of my new favorites – Sweet Tea in Sandfly.  I drooled over these petite hand painted canvases on my last trip and, armed with… Read More

Spring Break: Savannah Day 2

April 3, 2012July 28, 2015

We were up at the crack of dawn and after breakfast and some scootering, we loaded up the littles for a day of fun in the sun at Tybee!  First things first, we enjoyed our favorite Monday lunch of fish tacos and margaritas in our usual spot on the porch at Tybee Social.  And then… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
