Muffins with Mom

May 12, 2012July 28, 2015

Yesterday I had the extreme pleasure of attending my very first Muffins with Mom event with the PCP.  It was one of the sweetest, most memorable mornings I’ve ever had.  And it goes without saying that I was choking back the tears from the moment I arrived. John’s teachers really went out of their way… Read More

Zoo Atlanta Field Trip

May 9, 2012July 28, 2015

For one reason or another, I haven’t made it on a single one of the PCP’s field trips this year…until yesterday!  The kindergarteners took a trip down to Zoo Atlanta and invited parents and siblings to join in on the fun.  We spent hours pouring through each and every exhibit and ended our day with… Read More

Sweet & Simple Summer Countdown

May 8, 2012July 28, 2015

Starting this week, the PCP is loving counting down the school days left until summer with m&m’s in his lunch box! I used a sharpie to write on the bag and I just load it up each morning.  A sweet and simple way to mark the last few days of kindergarten.  *sniff sniff* And if… Read More

Have a BALL this summer! {Free Printable}

May 7, 2012May 14, 2016

For one of the ten bazillion end of school year activities happening over the next two weeks, the PCP was asked to bring in a trinket for each of his classmates that will be used to fill summer time beach buckets.  I popped in the Dollar Tree last week and picked up twenty water balls… Read More

Teacher Appreciation Round Up

May 4, 2012July 28, 2015

With the school year drawing to a close and teacher appreciation weeks abounding, I thought it would be fun to round up some of the treats we’ve given to the PCP’s sweet, kind and dedicated teachers this year!  A few of them even have free printables when you click on the link! Fun the Sun… Read More

I Couldn’t Have Picked

April 27, 2012July 28, 2015

…a better TEACHER! After our day at Southern Belle Farm, the PCP trotted off to school with a fresh picked pint of strawberries for each of his teachers.  I recycled cherry tomato containers printed out tags (using last year’s Independence Day invitation) to cover the cherry tomato labels that read “I couldn’t have picked a… Read More

One Hundred Books

April 21, 2012July 28, 2015

A long long time ago, in a land not too far away, Daddy-O once told his oldest daughter (and probably his youngest too) that if she learned to read she could simply pick up a book and go anywhere she could dream of and be anything she could think of.  It was one of those… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
