What We’re Watching {Return to Hogwarts}

Around here, we are HUGE Harry Potter fans! As you can imagine, we were beyond excited to settle into the den and watch Return to Hogwarts last week.

It was a little surreal to realize this was a 20th anniversary special. Honey and I told the boys stories of waiting for hours in lines at bookstores to get first edition launch day copies of every book in the series. We shared memories of being a young engaged and newlywed couple going to the midnight premiere for each movie. And, we told them how we longed for their arrivals so we could share our excitement for these stories with them (and take them to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!)

Streaming on HBO Max, the retrospective special is titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts and reunites Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, along with director Chris Columbus, for a look back at memorable moments from the films, behind-the-scenes footage, and new cast interviews about the book-turned-global-phenomenon.

It was like visiting with old friends – we laughed, we excited talked about scenes we’d forgotten and I might have even cried a little. If you’re a Potter fan and haven’t watched, settle around the telly for a wonderful night sometime soon :-)

I’ve shared so many fun Harry Potter things here over the years and watching the Return inspired me to recap a few.
