Fairmont Gold Experience
Fairmont Gold is a hotel within a hotel experience. Guests booked into these rooms and suites enjoy a private reception desk on arrival. A dedicated team provides thoughtful care, anticipating your needs and making special happen every step of the way – both before and during your stay. If you’re traveling with a group, the lounge is your living room – a wonderful place to convene for breakfast, a game of cards, to read a book and to enjoy each other’s company when off the mountain.
With food and beverages service available from 7AM – 10PM, you will enjoy a hot continental breakfast, canapes throughout the day, heavy hours d’eourves and desserts in the evening and an honor bar throughout the day. Non alcoholic beverages, juices, cans, water, sparkling water, and coffees are available around the clock.
Executive Suite at Fairmont Chateau Whistler
Our room was ready on arrival and it felt amazing to settle right in. The executive suite sleeps four and is spacious, elegant and so cozy that it made the perfect home away from home! The entry foyer is large enough to store your shoes and gear. After all, Whistler is a sporting haven all year round! While the ski concierge keeps your boots and skis, there is so.much.stuff. on top of that. It’s luxurious to have a space for it. The beverage bar is here off of the entry, as well as a half bath.
The living room is a true mountain escape, with the wood beams, leather sectional, fireplace, juliette balcony and alpine decor.
The bedroom is elegant and spacious, with a king bed, second fireplace and another juliette balcony.
Just off of the bedroom is a dressing table and massive closet. Living out of a suitcase on vacation hardly feels like vacation. I really appreciate a room with space to settle in.
The marble bathroom is huge with double sinks, a toilet room with bidet, shower and soaking tub. The rose scented toiletries are heavenly. Oh, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the aromatherapy infused shower capsules. My goodness!
Skiing Whistler Blackcomb
Whistler Blackcomb is regarded as the #1 ski resort in North America and is the ultimate winter escape. With over 8,171 acres of skiable terrain across two iconic mountains, endless adventure awaits. The Blackcomb Gondola is just steps from Fairmont’s door, and the resort ski concierge does all of the heavy lifting making it easier than ever to enjoy your vacation! The guys skied five days across both mountains and said it was their favorite ski destination yet! We all appreciated the convenience of the resort, amenities of the mountain, and LOW altitude compared to some places we’ve been stateside.
Resort Activities
While the boys were away skiing, I played at the resort all week! This was our first ski trip in 10 years where I didn’t get a lift ticket. My only regret is not doing this sooner. Of course, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler was the perfect location for us to have the best of both worlds. I was pampered and never wanted for something to do, while they were out enjoying the slopes. All of these activities were included in our stay:
Sunrise Sweat
Pilates
Spring Equinox Yoga
Crystal Sound Bath
Fitness Center, Saunas and Hot Tubs
Meet Archie the Resort Pup
Vida Spa
This mountainside sanctuary was what I was most looking forward to on this trip! My massage was excellent and I almost wish I’d saved it for later in the trip :-)
Mallard Lounge
The Mallard Lounge is casual, refined, and nestled in the perfect location at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. You’ll enjoy signature blends of house-infused spirits, live entertainment , and a spectacular setting. We see why locals and regulars flock to here, and we did the very same each evening.
The outdoor terrace offers numerous fire pits, a second bar and live entertainment, all with a view of Blackcomb!
Cabana Bar
Another option for cocktails starting around lunch and really picking up for Apres Ski is the spa-side service by Cabana Bar.
In Room Dining
A full room service menu is available, and breakfast for 2 is included daily when you book with me. What a treat!!
Portobello
Portobello is located on the lower level of the resort and is perfect for a quick bite any time of day, but particularly on the way to start your ski runs. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate her during the week.
The Wildflower
Breakfast for two is included daily when you book with me. At the Fairmont Chateau Whistler you can choose from Wildflower, Portobello or in room dining. The Wildflower showcases locally inspired dishes and innovative classics in a family-friendly restaurant setting.
The Grill Room
We sat down to a delectable dinner at The Grill Room. Everything we put into our mouths was exceptional. The restaurant is a AAA/CAA Four Diamond-rated destination for delectable chops, steak, and seafood, renowned for locally grown regional cuisine paired with the finest BC wines. The top most memorable items we enjoyed were the sourdough (particularly considering our current journey), tableside prepared Tomato & Gin Soup, Salmon Tartare, mashed potatoes on the side of our steak and fish dinners, and the tableside Bananas Foster (Whit had never had it and was in love!)
The Chalet
During the winter season, the golf club transforms to a dreamy Alpine wonderland known as The Chalet. We indulged in the 3 course Spring special of French Onion Soup, Cheese Fondue, Fondue Chinoise From the Land and Chocolate Fondue.
Whistler Village Shuttle and Resort Car
While there is so much to do, see and eat right at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, there is a shuttle that runs continuously to the village, as well as a resort car for more direct service.
Excursions
There are loads of complimentary excursions offered through the Fairmont, too. I didn’t see a wink all week and had the best time!
Polar Bear Lake Dip
Whistler Museum
Train Wreck Hike
Lake Loop Tour
There are five lakes in Whistler Valley and I embarked on a small group tour to visit three of them through the resort. Our guide was so informative and I learned a ton about the history of Whistler while visiting these stunning beauties!
