Fairmont Chateau Whistler: The Wildflower Breakfast

The guys had not yet tried The Wildflower, so we started our day with a hearty breakfast. They opted for the buffet, while I ordered off of the menu. Again, this is included when you book with me.

Skiing Peak to Peak

The Blackcomb gondola is just outside of the Fairmont gates – literal steps away. After retrieving their skis and boots from the ski concierge, they were off on another full day of skiing peak to peak!

#1 SKI RESORT IN NORTH AMERICA BY CONDE NAST TRAVELLER

Experience the ultimate winter escape at Whistler Blackcomb, North America’s premier ski resort. With over 8,171 acres of skiable terrain across two iconic mountains, endless adventure awaits. With the Blackcomb Gondola just steps from Fairmont’s door, there’s no better time to hit the slopes!

Lake Loop Tour

There are five lakes in Whistler Valley and I embarked on a small group tour to visit three of them through the resort. Our guide was so informative and I learned a ton about the history of Whistler while visiting these stunning beauties! We started at Green Lake, the largest of the five.

I cannot believe it took a week for me to learn about / notice SKI on the side of Blackcomb Mountain!

Our next stop was Rainbow Park, where we learned a little about the first railroad before soaking in panoramic mountain views from a pier off of Alta Lake.

Our final stop was Alpha Lake.

Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center

After a bit of r&r at the hotel with the guys, we were off to the Squamish Lil-wat Cultural Center. A quick walk from the Fairmont, this was such a gem of an experience. We took advantage of the guided tour that is offered every hour and were so glad we did.

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC) is the first centre of its kind in Canada, located on the shared, traditional territories of the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation. Two nations came together to celebrate and share their cultures with the world while creating meaningful employment opportunities for members of both the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation, Coast Salish) and Líl̓wat7úl (Lil’wat Nation, Interior Salish) Nations. Designed to evoke the form of a Squamish Longhouse and Lil’wat Istken (earthen dwelling), the SLCC embodies the spirit of partnership between two unique Nations who wish to preserve, grow, and share their traditional cultures.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: Mallard Apres Ski

For our last apres, we couldn’t resist going back to The Mallard one final time. The signature G+T is just so delicious, the live music excellent and over experience top notch.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: The Chalet Dinner

During the winter season, the golf club transforms to a dreamy Alpine wonderland known as The Chalet.

We looked forward to this dinner all week and it did not disappoint. The perfect ending to a perfect week. We indulged in the 3 course Spring special of French Onion Soup, Cheese Fondue, Fondue Chinoise From the Land and Chocolate Fondue.

It was a decadent and memorable evening to end this magical week!

  1. Sounds like an action-packed week! The Wildflower breakfast sounds delish. Skiing peak to peak right from the resort’s doorstep is a dream. And that Lake Loop Tour? Count me in! I once took a similar tour in the Alps and it was magical. Did you get to try any local snacks during your adventures? Also, how was the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center? Can’t wait to hear more!
