Fairmont Gold Breakfast

We were all up early and I went with the guys for breakfast in the Gold lounge. (Once again, I just had coffee at this hour.) We’ve been so impressed with the food here!

Skiing Peak to Peak

The Blackcomb gondola is just outside of the Fairmont gates – literal steps away. After retrieving their skis and boots from the ski concierge, they were off for a full day of skiing peak to peak! It got pretty cloudy as the day progressed, so they said they spent the afternoon chasing runs with visibility. I’ve never been more pleased with a vacation decision than to NOT ski!

#1 SKI RESORT IN NORTH AMERICA BY CONDE NAST TRAVELLER

Experience the ultimate winter escape at Whistler Blackcomb, North America’s premier ski resort. With over 8,171 acres of skiable terrain across two iconic mountains, endless adventure awaits. With the Blackcomb Gondola just steps from Fairmont’s door, there’s no better time to hit the slopes!

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: Portobello

With another full resort day ahead of me, I ventured down to Portobello for today’s breakfast for one. It was a cozy quick serve spot and I thoroughly enjoyed my bagel and lox. Again, this is included when you book with me.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: Vida Spa

After breakfast, I was off to the spa. This mountainside sanctuary was what I was most looking forward to on this trip! My massage was excellent and I almost wish I’d saved it for later in the trip :-)

Afterwards, I spent a lazy afternoon enjoying the spa facilities. These are all included every day for resort guests. While they get pretty busy in the late afternoon as the skiers drift in, the morning and early afternoon are just as quiet as can be.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: Pilates

Next, I was off to a late afternoon Pilates class. I signed up for so many of the complimentary activities – most of which I have no experience with at all. Turns out, I really enjoy Pilates! I was the only beginner but felt totally comfortable. I think all my years of ballet must make me a good candidate.

I read in the suite by the fire and window for the rest of the afternoon!

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: Apres Ski

When the guys returned, we took our Apres Ski to the hot tub! The Cabana bar offers spa side service and so many fun cocktails.

Wild Blue & Whistler Village

The Fairmont offers a shuttle to the village every 15-20 minutes or so throughout the day. We hopped on for an evening of shopping and dinner at Wild Blue. Dinner was incredible, the restaurant was stunning and the food was just as tasty as it was beautiful

We offer an upscale, seafood-forward, and locally-inspired dining experience accompanied by attentive service within a luxurious setting. Where coastal influences from Italy, France, and the Pacific Northwest meet the mountains, dining is complemented by a carefully curated wine and cocktail selection..

Back at the Fairmont, we popped into the lounge for dessert before bed!

  1. Sounds like an amazing trip! I’m jealous of those ski days. The food at the Gold lounge sounds delish. I once had a similar experience at a fancy hotel breakfast. Did they try any of the local specialties while skiing in Whistler Village?
