Fairmont Gold Breakfast

We were all up early and I went with the guys for breakfast in the Gold lounge. (I just had coffee at this hour.) The speed, convenience and quality of the offerings were fantastic and made for a quick exit to the slopes.

Skiing Blackcomb

The Blackcomb gondola is just outside of the Fairmont gates – literal steps away. After retrieving their skis and boots from the ski concierge, they were off for five-ish hours of fun in the snow.

#1 SKI RESORT IN NORTH AMERICA BY CONDE NAST TRAVELLER

Experience the ultimate winter escape at Whistler Blackcomb, North America’s premier ski resort. With over 8,171 acres of skiable terrain across two iconic mountains, endless adventure awaits. With the Blackcomb Gondola just steps from Fairmont’s door, there’s no better time to hit the slopes!

Fairmont Chateau Whistler

Meanwhile at the resort, I spent some time exploring.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: Sunrise Sweat

I took a Sunrise Sweat class and hit the hot tub. This is included, as are a host of activities I’ll share with you this week!

Next I showered – I’m only sharing this so I can tell you about these incredible aromatherapy capsules that infuse your water. It was so indulgent that I was counting how many days we have left and how many capsules to use. I was thrilled when I returned to the room to see they had been replenished. Now I can share with Honey and Whit. :-)

Fairmont Chateau Whistler: The Wildflower

Dressed and ready for the day, I sat down for a divine breakfast at Wildflower. Breakfast for two is included daily when you book with me. At the Fairmont Chateau Whistler you can choose from Wildflower, Portobello or in room dining. I sat down with copious amounts of coffee, my book and a hearty meal and couldn’t have been happier.

As for the rest of my day, I read by the fire in our suite. Glorious!

Apres Ski

When the guys returned in the early afternoon, we went straight to the Gold lounge for canapes.

We deposited Whit back in the room and Honey showered and rested a bit before we were off to the Mallard Lounge. We both absolutely love their signature Gin & Tonic and enjoyed two of those, a few spirited card games and live music.

The Grill Room

We sat down to a delectable dinner at The Grill Room. Everything we put into our mouths was exceptional. The restaurant is a AAA/CAA Four Diamond-rated destination for delectable chops, steak, and seafood, renowned for locally grown regional cuisine paired with the finest BC wines. The top most memorable items we enjoyed were the sourdough (particularly considering our current journey), tableside prepared Tomato & Gin Soup, Salmon Tartare, mashed potatoes on the side of our steak and fish dinners, and the tableside Bananas Foster (Whit had never had it and was in love!)

It was all smiles at the end of our day!

  1. Amanda,
You’re shrinking! What a wonderful trip. I’ve been to Whistler and it’s beautiful!
Stop procrastinating, you need to come to San Francisco!

  2. Looks fabulous, Amanda! I’m curious how Honey worked in BC during college. Was it during the summer? It’s just great that he can now share it with you and Whit. 🙂 ❄️❄️❄️ The resort needs to serve Whit’s penguin cake. 😃🐧🐧 Jane 🌴

    1. Sorry – he worked in Vail! He really wanted to go to college out West. His dad made a deal with him that if he went to Georgia Tech he could take winters off rather than summers and move out west to work and ski!

  3. That’s interesting Dixie Delights trivia! 😃 Good for Honey and his father too. 🕊🙂 Thanks! 🌴 What a perfect solution and then he met YOU! ❤️ Jane 🌴

  4. This vacation sounds amazing! The proximity to the Blackcomb gondola for skiing is a huge plus. And those aromatherapy capsules in the shower sound like a luxurious touch. Can’t wait to hear more!
