One of my favorite Christmas gifts this year came straight from my kitchen-loving heart. Honey gave me Ivy Odom’s My Southern Kitchen cookbook, and it was love at first flip.
If you don’t know Ivy, you should. I first found her through the Southern Living Instagram account and immediately fell for her. She is darling, Southern through and through, a great storyteller, authentic and just plain fun to watch.
As I shifted gears from Christmas to New Year’s, I knew I wanted to bring along something homemade for the ladies we were celebrating with. I decided to make small versions of Ivy’s favorite pound cake and wrap them up as individual gifts.

I baked the cakes in my small bundt pans, wrapped them in clear cellophane, and tied them with black ribbon. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding one extra touch. I used my Cricut to add “2026” in gold to the ribbon. They were the perfect little hostess gifts and traveled beautifully. Both friends texted me on January 1 to say how wonderful the cakes were and how much they enjoyed them, which is always the very best compliment.
A few days later, I baked a full-size version just for us at home, and oh my word. This pound cake is everything you want it to be. I have shared several pound cake recipes over the years, but I am fully convinced I will never need another one. This is the one.

And because I always get asked, here are the supplies I used for gifting:
– Clear cellophane roll
– Small cake rounds
– Small bundt pans
I’ve already made two other recipes from My Southern Kitchen and I have a feeling Ivy will be making many appearances on my menus all year long!
