Star Spangled Breakfast

We kicked off July and the holiday weekend with a yummy and festive waffle brunch on the porch!

I used my regular waffle maker and then added mini-star waffles around the edge. I’ve had the runner (Pottery Barn), plates and napkins (Vineyard Vines for Target) for many, many years. I didn’t plan this in advance, so marshmallows I had on hand were a great substitute for whipped cream. They melted and turned gooey on the hot waffles and the guys loved it!

Whit and Honey headed off with a new service group Whit was accepted to that trains K-9 dogs through his high school. John left for the lake with his bestie. I cleaned up after breakfast and then knocked out a ton of things around the house – including FINALLY planting my garden. I hope it isn’t too late. :-)
