Sunday Supper {Honey Butter Rolls}

We have these parkerhouse style rolls at least once a week and they are a foolproof favorite!  I am calling them part of “Sunday supper” because you do have to remember to take them out to thaw first thing in the morning.

The dough comes in a yellow bag in the freezer section of the grocery store.   It is really inexpensive.

You will want to take them out to thaw early in the morning.  I lightly grease the bottom of a square dish and even space nine pieces of dough.

During the day they will thaw and rise.  They look like this going into the oven.  I drizzle with about 1 tablespoon of melted butter before putting them in.  Bake them according to the directions on the back of the bag.

When they finish, drizzle them with another tablespoon of melted butter and about the same amount (or more!) of honey.  They are absolutely delicious!!!!

Also, here is a link to my favorite square baking dish.  I love that it is beautiful enough to go from the oven to the table.  (Oh, and then to the dishwasher.)  I also use the pie plate and it makes beautiful desserts.

I want to thank all of you that have served and are serving our country.  I am grateful for the sacrifice you and your family make to protect our freedoms.  God bless the USA!

Frankweiler in my to-read stack, I was overwhelmed with messages and comments saying “that was my favorite childhood book”!  A week or so later, and before I had even started it, I volunteered to help Whit’s teacher organize the library in… Read More

Disney Cruise Line {Disney Dream & Fantasy Royal Suites}

When I sailed as a guest of Disney Vacation Club on the DVC Member Cruise, we utilized the Walt Disney Suite as a headquarters of sorts.  It is a beautifully appointed, art deco style accommodation on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy and the pinnacle of luxury.  There is a second mirror-image Royal Suite next… Read More

Sunday Supper {Chicken & Dumplings}

The Magnolia Table Chicken & Dumplings was another big hit around here!  It is one of the ultimate comfort foods, in my opinion.  I’ve made numerous variations of this dish over the years and this one was our favorite. Now, here is what Jo’s looks like… … and here’s mine.  Barf.  It looks awful but it tastes… Read More
