Celebrating John {A Snack, A Party & A Dinner}

November 27, 2024November 27, 2024

I never much cared for the Thanksgiving birthday until I realized I’d have a good chance at having my boy home to celebrate with him for a few more years!! He slept over at his best friend’s house, and told me they celebrated at midnight. When he returned home, I had a few of his… Read More

John Turns Nineteen!

November 26, 2024November 27, 2024

It’s awfully hard to believe, but John is celebrating his nineteenth birthday today. I am so proud of the young man he has become, and grateful for the supreme blessing of being his mom. I vividly remember the moment I first laid eyes on all eight pounds of him. At the time he seemed huge… Read More

A Beautiful Birthday Celebration

November 20, 2024November 20, 2024

I have the good fortune to call the beautiful KD my friend, and was thrilled to spend a rainy Tuesday in Georgia celebrating her 40th birthday over a stunning lunch at Swan Coach House. I was simply a guest at this celebration but had to share what the hostesses beautifully and thoughtfully put together for… Read More

Thanksgiving Family Audit

November 19, 2024November 20, 2024

With my boys growing into young men and John away at Auburn, I want to make the most of our time together next week. I figure they are old enough to know what they enjoy, don’t care much for and would like to do over their holiday week. And so, I did a little Thanksgiving… Read More

Thanksgiving Touches

November 13, 2024November 11, 2024

I did something I’ve never done before and put out a few Thanksgiving touches. They will be so short lived that I probably won’t ever do it again. HA! I pulled out things I already own that I typically use just the week of Thanksgiving for entertaining. Here, a couple of fall cookbooks sit next… Read More

Making Halloween Happy {Trick or Treat}

October 31, 2024November 1, 2024

Our month long festivities concluded tonight with a chorus of Trick or Treats! Like we’ve done the past few years, we set up a table in the driveway with a variety of treats for the kids. Before we started doing this, we rarely had people leave the sidewalk to cross our street and climb up… Read More

Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️ Some nights just deserve a place on the grid. 🎻⚡️

Whit had the incredible honor of learning from and performing on stage with Mark Wood… original electric violinist for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, creator of the iconic Viper electric violin and composer known for blending classical music with rock energy in the most unforgettable way.

And unforgettable is exactly what this night was.

Symphonic rock. Hard rock. Heavy metal. A full stage of student musicians absolutely pouring their hearts into every note with so much confidence, passion and energy.

And then there was Whit… featured cellist during Carry On Wayward Son, which already held a spot on my all-time favorites list before this night. Watching him up there completely in his element was one of those proud mom moments I know I’ll hold onto forever.

I know this video is long and maybe a little “mom scrapbook” coded… but this one deserved its square among the memories and adventures.🤍
