Sunday Supper {Pot Roast Gyros}

July 21, 2024July 8, 2024

I’m back with another great Half Baked Harvest crock pot recipe! I love any meal that doesn’t require me to heat up the house with the oven. This one was a big hit with the family, but I thought the cut of meat she recommends was kind of tough. I’d use something different next time.… Read More

Celebrating the Class of 2024 {Dressing the Grad}

July 19, 2024July 11, 2024

One of the things I most often questioned about is dressing boys! I thought I’d share how we outfitted the family for John’s graduation. I figured there’s no better day than graduation day to show that last bit of school spirit. There was a strict dress code issued by the school – tie (no bow… Read More

School Night Supper {Costco Stuffed Peppers}

July 18, 2024July 8, 2024

After discovering the stuffed peppers in the prepared food area of Costco a few months back, they have been on a regular rotation! They are delicious, filling and the whole family loves them. What more could a mom ask for?! They come with six generous sized pepper halves in the container. I think they taste… Read More

Sunday Supper {Tuscan Lemon Chicken & Greek Orzo Salad}

July 14, 2024July 8, 2024

Our Sunday Supper was absolutely delicious this week, featuring two new recipes that I know we will try again. The boys were so excited to see the chicken marinating overnight. In fact, the morning I made this meal, Whit work up and said “I’ll be thinking about that chicken all day. It looks so good!”… Read More

Walk of Fame 2024

July 11, 2024July 11, 2024

We’ve celebrated a LOT of things over the years, but the last day of school Walk of Fame is my most favorite of all. It’s not elaborate or expensive, but it makes me happier, prouder and more excited than any of the others and is a small thing to remind the boys of how much… Read More

My Little Garden

July 10, 2024July 10, 2024

I did my spring plantings on Good Friday and have just loved spending time cultivating my little garden this spring and summer. The two beds are located in the same spot in our side yard as they were back when the boys were little. Time does fly. I still have the original front porch railings… Read More

I Loved {Summer Shaved Ice}

July 9, 2024July 10, 2024

It’s been two summers since I started churning out shaved ice at home and my kids and their friend still get giddy at the prospect!! I tell you what – the quickest way to endear a pool full of teenagers is to bring out 9 glass of shaved ice and a basket of syrups. They… Read More

Mahjong, but make it cards. @playhootenanny gifte Mahjong, but make it cards.

@playhootenanny gifted me their Mahjong Playing Cards, and Honey and I took them along on our recent weekend away. They’re beautiful, easy to pack and such a fun way to play when traveling with an entire mahjong setup isn’t exactly practical.

We picked it up surprisingly quickly, and these have officially earned a spot in my travel bag.

I shared more on the blog today, including a link to the set on Amazon!

It was about watching two incredible kids chase big dreams, cheering them on from the front row, and soaking up every minute together.

The city was amazing… but these memories mean even more. 🤍🗽

To JB and Cee: we couldn’t be more proud. Enjoy summer in the city!
